Turn10 has provided insights into the forthcoming Patch 5.0 for Forza Motorsport, scheduled to be released next month. This update is anticipated to bring significant enhancements to the PC version of Forza Motorsport, with a primary focus on improving performance.
Forza Motorsport has undergone a series of updates since its launch in October, with the most recent being Update 4 released just a couple of weeks ago. This update introduced the iconic Daytona International Speedway, renowned as the home of the Daytona 500 and one of America's largest stadiums, as a notable addition. Alongside this, a new Career Tour titled «Italian Challengers» was incorporated, designed to immerse players in the rich history of Italian motorsports. The tour features distinguished vehicles such as the Lancia Delta HF Integrale EVO, Alfa Romeo Giulia Quadrifoglio, and a 2007 Ferrari 430 Scuderia.
With the release of patch notes for Update 5.0, it is clear that significant improvements are on the horizon, particularly focusing on enhancing the PC version of Forza Motorsport. Noteworthy enhancements include various optimizations under the hood aimed at reducing CPU spikes and better utilizing the GPU. These enhancements will contribute to a more consistent framerate during gameplay, providing a smoother experience for players behind the wheel. Additionally, the update will address several crash scenarios attributed to multi-threaded rendering, ensuring a more stable gaming environment.
Another crucial fix involves the correction of an issue that prevented users from utilizing full-screen mode on PCs equipped with integrated GPUs. Mouse navigation will be enhanced, enabling the right mouse button (RMB) to replicate the functionality of Esc + B for more intuitive menu navigation. Additionally, a specific issue on PC will be addressed where players were not experiencing a performance boost when transitioning from high-quality to low-quality mode.
Moreover, the update will tackle various stability issues, resolving crashes that could occur during different scenarios, including when returning to Open Practice in Featured Multiplayer and opening race replays. Photo Mode on PC is set to display correctly in non-16:9 resolutions, and searching Replays or Photo Galleries by Track will yield accurate results. Gameplay will see the addition of a Skip Practice option in Career mode, addressing issues in Private Multiplayer, Free Play, and various modes. Livery Editor improvements include prompts to save designs and fixes for Vinyl Group issues. The update is also poised to bring targeted fixes forForza Motorsportcars, wheels, graphics, AI, and tracks, enhancing the overall gaming experience for players.
