Former Ghostwire Tokyo creative director Ikumi Nakamura has revealed Kemuri, the first game from her new studio Unseen.
Kemuri is an original IP created by Nakamura, and has players hunting ghosts in a city environment.
“Kemuri summons you into a realm where the unpredictable meets the extraordinary in an urban jungle where mysterious creatures, yokai, hide amongst the population,” the game’s description reads.
“Become a Yokai Hunter and use your Fox Window to unravel the mysteries of the city and bring balance to the world.
“Dive into a thrilling adventure alone or with friends, hunt yokai in style, collect their powers and face even greater challenges. Where there are sightings of Kemuri, yokai are sure to follow. The only question that remains is: How will you Hunt the Unseen?”

Nakamura started out as an artist on Capcom’s Okami, before working on Bayonetta and the cancelled Scalebound at PlatinumGames. She then spent almost a decade at Tango Gameworks, which was founded in 2010 by Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.
During that time, she worked on 2014’s The Evil Within, its 2017 sequel The Evil Within 2, and most recently GhostWire Tokyo.
Nakamura rose to prominence in June 2019 following her passionate and warmly received GhostWire Tokyo presentation at publisher Bethesda’s E3 press conference, but she left Tango just three months later.
She later revealed that the pressure of her working life there was negatively impacting her health.
In March 2022, Nakamura revealed her new studio, Unseen.
