Final Fantasy VII Rebirth Hands-on Preview – The Calm Before Kalm

In less than four weeks, players will be able to play through the second entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy on PlayStation. Rebirth does away with the PlayStation 4 release, something that players would have expected after Remake Intergrade and the introduction of Yuffie Kisaragi was exclusive to the latest Sony console generation. At the moment, Final Fantasy VII Rebirth remains a PS5 console exclusive but certainly has the possibility of coming to PC by way of Epic Games Store and/or Steam in a matter of months.

The Doomsday clock is at 90 seconds to midnight - how close are we to catastrophe? Explained

Once every year, a select group of nuclear, climate and technology experts assemble to determine where to place the hands of the Doomsday Clock. Presented by the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists, the Doomsday Clock is a visual metaphor for humanity's proximity to catastrophe. It measures our collective peril in minutes and seconds to midnight, and we don't want to strike 12. In 2023, the expert group brought the clock the closest it has ever been to midnight: 90 seconds. On January 23 2024, the Doomsday Clock was unveiled again, revealing that the hands remain in the same precarious position.

The Day Before Studio Releases Statement Citing “Outside Forces” For Games Failure

While a “certain someone” wanted nothing more than to praise 2023 for its “gaming excellence,” people who actually lived and worked during that period know that it was hardly flawless. One of the biggest issues is that the games released that year had a huge pendulum swing when it came to quality. Plenty of titles were “Game of the Year worthy,” and then there were titles that made people wonder why they came out. One such title that helped end the year was The Day Before, a game so bad that its studio shut it down in just two months.

The Day Before developer resurfaces to blame failure on "hate campaign"

You might have thought the The Day Before's sorry saga had ended last year when developer Fntastic, amid claims of misleading marketing and Overwhelmingly Negative Steam reviews, yanked the game from sale and promptly shut its doors just four days into its early access launch. But no, the studio has now reemerged with a lengthy statement blaming the whole thing on a «hate campaign» orchestrated by «certain bloggers».

The Day Before studio say the game's downfall was thanks to "a hate campaign"

Fntastic, the folks behind the debilitating 'open world zombie MMO' The Day Before, have released a statement to combat "misinformation" about its development and catastrophic release. They claim certain "bloggers" made huge money by creating "false content" about the game, and that its closure is thanks largely to a hate campaign that inflicted "significant damage". Bizarrely, they also believe they "implemented everything shown in the trailers". Riiight.
