Any video game series worth its salt has its very own set of plushes for fans to collect, so naturally a series as famous and long-running as Final Fantasy has a lot of them. Pulling from all of its games, Final Fantasy's plush collection is a large one, and those of you who want to buy some might want to pick one game for now and stick to it. However, if you're on the hunt for plushes that embody the entire series, then Square Enix's new Chocobo and Moogle plushes might be for you.
Square's new Moogle and Chocobo plushes appear to have kicked off a Final Fantasy cube collection, compacting the series' mainstays into neat little boxes, each of which is available in three different sizes. Perfect for those who don't necessarily want a big plush, or don't want to pay what some might consider to be too much for one.

Both the Chocobo and the Moogle plushes are available to pre-order right now in small, medium, or large. The small plushes are $12, double that to $24 for the medium ones, or if you do want your Chocobos and Moogles to be as big as possible, the plushes will cost you $35 each. The medium cubes are about twice the size of the smallest ones, and the largest option is roughly three times the size of the smallest of the plushes.
First appearing in Final Fantasy 3, Moogles have been one of the few elements you can find in every game in the series since. Its cube plush comes in three different sizes and can be pre-ordered via the links below.
As noted, the best news of all is that you can pre-order these brand news Final Fantasy plushes right now. The bad news is even if you do get your orders in as soon as you're done reading this, you're still going to be made to wait before you can actually add them to your collection. Both the Chocobo and the Moogle plushes have April 2024 release dates attached, regardless of the size you order. Hey, on the bright side, if you order them now at least you'll have something to look forward to. Or, even better, if you forget you ordered them, you'll get a nice little surprise about eight months from now.
Chocobos have been a part of Final Fantasy for even longer than Moogles. Also a part of what will hopefully be a growing cube plush collection, this little Chocobo is available to pre-order now in three different sizes.
Above all else, the Chocobo and Moogle plushes are the best of all the Final Fantasy options for anyone who simply can't choose a favorite game from the series to be the focus of their collection. That's because even though each game is separate from the last, Chocobos and Moogles are two key elements that appear in almost every game. There's been a lot of debate over Final Fantasy 16 and its sales numbers. Whether it's because of tiresome fanboy wars on social media (Final Fantasy 16 is currently a PS5 exclusive, remember), Square Enix's long history of being disappointed in its products, expectations that have been set by previous Final Fantasy titles, or, more than likely a bit of everything, Clive and the gang's commercial success has been a heated talking point over the last couple of months.
A new patch for Final Fantasy 16 will be dropping this week, but try not to get too excited when the notification pops up on your PS5. Indeed, this seems to be a very minor update, with the game's official Japanese website mentioning adjustments to how Arcade Mode evaluates your combat performance — and that's pretty much it. A new leaderboard will be put in place as well.
