Though the game has been out for a while, developer Square Enix still intends to improve the experience for players of Final Fantasy 16 with a new update. The update will add several new features to the Final Fantasy 16 user interface, making things more convenient for players who like to tinker with their character builds.
First released in 2023 as a PlayStation 5 exclusive, Final Fantasy 16 stood out by eschewing many classic Final Fantasy conventions. Rather than a turn-based or real-time menu-driven combat system, the Final Fantasy 16 development team opted for purer action-based combat starring a single character, protagonist Clive Rosfield. Over the course of Clive's journey, players can acquire godlike abilities from powerful Eikons, and finding the best Final Fantasy 16 ability combos is a major part of gameplay.
Square Enix isn't done improving Final Fantasy 16 for players old and new, as evidenced by the team's panel at PAX East held in Boston, Massachusets over the weekend. It was during the panel that the team spoke ofFinal Fantasy 16 Patch 1.30. According to the panel, the patch is almost ready to be deployed and will contain several improvements to the user experience, aimed at increasing the convenience of playing through Clive's journey. The panel did not specify a release date for the patch, so as of press time, it's not confirmed whether the patch will arrive before or alongsidethe second Final Fantasy 16 DLC pack, The Rising Tide, which is scheduled for April 18, 2024.
The improvements to be included in Final Fantasy 16 Patch 1.30 are focused on improving the game as it is, rather than adding new content. Players will be able to save time when completing the game's many side quests with a «Quick Complete» feature that teleports Clive back to the quest-related NPC once their task is done. Certain abilities and accessories will also receive updates to make them easier to use, and a new controller setting will allow players to customize their button layouts, improving accessibility. Importantly, a new «Skill Set» feature will allow players to save unique arrangements of feats and abilities, thus saving the best Final Fantasy 16 Eikonic combos for easy access.
While Final Fantasy 16 proved to be a somewhat divisive entry in the series thanks to its unusual mechanical approach and some controversial storytelling decisions, the game isn't completely done yet. With The Rising Tide DLC soon to release and a PC version on the way, the game is set to break back into the public eye, allowing more players to experience Clive's story for themselves. Square Enix's dedication to improving the game experience, despite having no public plans for more Final Fantasy 16 DLC, shows that the company is still

The latest Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth update patch is now available to download, and it fixes the infamous Platinum Trophy bug that’s been plaguing some players. Like most modern video games, Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth includes a list of Trophies that players can earn by completing various tasks in-game. Some of these achievements are simply a matter of playing through the game’s story and reaching certain moments, while others require going off the beaten path and fulfilling side objectives. At the very top of every PlayStation achievement list is the Platinum Trophy, the ultimate accolade that signifies that a player has fully completed the video game in question.

A potential remaster of Final Fantasy Tactics has been in the rumour mill for several years at this point, and even though official word on whether or not it exists remains elusive, Final Fantasy 16 producer Naoki Yoshida – who’s also the director and producer of Final Fantasy 14 – has indicated that he, at the very least, is personally interested in seeing Final Fantasy Tactics be brought back.
