Though Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail is still weeks away, Square Enix revealed a calendar of events for players to take part in until the launch of the upcoming expansion. Among the events coming to Final Fantasy 14 throughout May and June, the return of the Yo-Kai Watch and Dragon Quest 10 collaboration events were confirmed, along with the dates for the next two Letter from the Producer Live broadcasts.
During the ninth annual 14-hour broadcast, Final Fantasy 14 producer and director Naoki Yoshida and global community producer Toshio Murouchi gave players another glimpse of the graphics update coming in Dawntrail. During the 80th Letter from the Producer Live segment, Yoshida and Murouchi compared the graphics currently in the game to what players can expect in Dawntrail once the expansion is released. In addition to the graphical options players can utilize, Yoshida confirmed that players will soon have more control over their blacklists, as new features such as a Term Filter and a Mute List will be implemented in Dawntrail.
However, Final Fantasy 14 players will soon have some content to tide them over until Dawntrail launches in early access on June 28. While the Final Fantasy 16 crossover event runs until May 8, the return of the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration was confirmed by Yoshida and Murouchi. The Yo-Kai Watch collaboration starts on Wednesday, April 24, and concludes on Wednesday, June 26, when server maintenance for Dawntrail starts. The second half of the Moogle Treasure Trove will run from Tuesday, May 14 until Monday, June 24, which will give players rewards for completing various objectives, such as The Hunt and Ocean Fishing. That same week, the Make It Rain Campaign will take place in the Gold Saucer from Wednesday, May 15 to Friday, May 31.
On Thursday, May 16, the 81st Letter from the Producer Live broadcast will air and go over the state of combat Jobs going into Dawntrail. From June 5 to 20, the Dragon Quest 10 collaboration event will return, and the 82nd Letter from the Producer Live will air on Friday, June 14. Before Dawntrail's early access period begins, the game will undergo 48 hours of server maintenance starting on Wednesday, June 26.
Yoshida said that this was mostly to give players sufficient time to download Dawntrail, and clarified that the server maintenance itself will not take too long by comparison. Between the Dawntrail PC Benchmark and the upcoming calendar of events, Final Fantasy 14 players will have plenty to sink their time into soon.

The trailer gave fans glimpses of new in-game areas, enemies, and combat upgrades. If you've been playing through Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, or have even finished it, you'll know that things can get pretty wild when it comes to alternate timelines, universes, and all sorts of strange, meta mumbo jumbo. It can be difficult to keep track of everything that's happening and being said, especially when Cloud himself is immensely unreliable as a main character and his headaches are a primary source of confusion.
