As the wait for the next expansion continues, Final Fantasy 14 confirmed that the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration event would return to the game for players to experience. The event will give Final Fantasy 14 players who missed out on previous Yo-Kai Watch events a chance to earn exclusive mounts, minions, and cosmetic weapons for their collections, alongside a new reward for this iteration.
In previous versions of the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration event, Final Fantasy 14 players could earn special rewards by speaking to a «poor-heeled youth» in Ul'dah, which would grant them a Yo-Kai Watch and Yo-Kai Medallium that are used to obtain special medals. These medals can only be obtained by equipping the titular Yo-Kai Watch and participating in FATEs in The Black Shroud, Thanlanan, La Noscea, and all zones in the Heavensward and Stormblood expansions. Players can summon various Yo-Kai such as Jibanyan, Whisper, and Komasan as minions by collecting enough medals. By participating in more FATEs with these Yo-Kai minions present, players can also earn Legendary Medals used to purchase weapon glamours for most Jobs in Final Fantasy 14, such as a Warrior's axe for Jibanyan, or a Bard's bow for Whisper.
During Letter from the Producer Live Part 80, Square Enix revealed a calendar of events that will take place before Dawntrail enters early access on June 28. Among them was the return of the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration event, slated to start on Wednesday, April 24, and conclude on Wednesday, June 26, once Final Fantasy 14 enters a 48-hour maintenance for Dawntrail. This will give Final Fantasy 14 players two months to collect various rewards, which include 17 minions and weapon glamours, and three mounts.
Players who participated in previous Yo-Kai Watch events and misplaced their titular watch can obtain a new one by speaking with a Recompense Officer in Ul'dah, Gridania, or Limsa Lominsa. While previous rewards will be obtainable during the event, the 2024 version of the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration will give dedicated Final Fantasy 14 players a new reward to collect. According to Square Enix, a new Framer's Kit to use with adventurer plates and portraits will be available for players to obtain with Manderville Gold Saucer Points (MGP). However, this will only be available to players who obtain all 17 of the available Yo-Kai that can be summoned as minions. However, there are no Yo-Kai Watch weapons for the Sage and Reaper Jobs.
The start of the Yo-Kai Watch collaboration will overlap with the ongoing Final Fantasy 16 crossover, which ends on May 8. All in all, Final Fantasy 14 players who missed out will have another chance to add some unique items to their collections.

Last week, Square Enix unveiled the official PC benchmark and accompanying trailer for the upcoming Final Fantasy XIV expansion, Dawntrail. The trailer gave fans glimpses of new in-game areas, enemies, and combat upgrades. While that all went over rather well, the game's decade-old character creation engine is drawing ire this time and the eyes of character models, in particular.

Sony has updated the Last Chance to Play section of its PlayStation Plus service, revealing several PS5 and PS4 titles leaving the subscription service, including many titles. This is not unheard of with subscriptions such as Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, but this clear-out does seem to be larger than most, with 25 titles being removed.
If you've been playing through Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, or have even finished it, you'll know that things can get pretty wild when it comes to alternate timelines, universes, and all sorts of strange, meta mumbo jumbo. It can be difficult to keep track of everything that's happening and being said, especially when Cloud himself is immensely unreliable as a main character and his headaches are a primary source of confusion.
World of Warcraft: Plunderstorm will soon come to an end, as Blizzard confirmed that the limited-time battle royale will conclude its initial run on Tuesday, April 30. However, to tide World of Warcraft players over, Blizzard also stated that the reputation gained from taking part in Plunderstorm will be doubled starting with the April 16 weekly maintenance.
