Get in, nerds: We’re going planet-hopping. That’s essentially the premise of the new casual content, “Cosmic Exploration,” announced for the new Final Fantasy 14: Dawntrail expansion.
Described as part of the “Lifestyle Content” push in FFXIV , Cosmic Exploration sounds like it’ll be aptly titled, as you’ll be able to explore literally other planets—and multiplayer exploration is encouraged.
With each update, which sounds like it’ll mean “each time you progress” but don’t quote us on that, you’ll get a new planet to explore. However, we’re not exactly sure what “progress” means yet in this context. Is it mining to feed the hand of gil exchange, or are we greeting freaky little new creatures? We’ll hear more soon, surely.

Director Naoki Yoshida says more information on the content will be available during the “Letter from the Producer” streams leading up to Dawntrail , which will be released this summer.
