Every Thursday at 10 am CT, the Epic Games Store rotates its free game selection and confirms what will be coming the next week. This means Epic Games Store users can no longer claim Call of the Wild: The Angler or Invincible Presents: Atom Eve, but they can claim Islets until April 4. At that time, Islets will rotate out of EGS and the service will add The Outer Worlds and Thief, two big pick-ups for the service.
It's worth noting that both of the free Epic Games Store games had leaked, prior to this reveal, per known leaker Billbil-kun. While all rumors and leaks should be taken with a grain of salt, Billbil-kun has accurately leaked PS Plus games, EGS games, Xbox Game Pass games, and more in the past. This means it was not all too surprising to see the games they mentioned, The Outer Worlds on March 27 and Thief shortly before their official reveal, confirmed.
Both games are solid additions and representative of their genre. The Outer Worlds is a sci-fi RPG, one with solid Fallout storytelling vibes, and players are joined by some unique and interesting companions. The edition made free on Epic Games Store, the Spacer's Choice Edition, also includes the game's DLC, improved graphics, and a higher level cap. It's also worth noting that The Outer Worlds was developed by Obsidian Entertainment, which is releasing a similar, but fantasy-based, RPG later this year in Avowed.
Meanwhile, Thief is a stealth game, but not necessarily one comparable to Assassin's Creed for example. Its use of first-person, immersive sim elements, and distinct use of sound and audio (from other stealth games) ensures it stands out quite a bit. It's absolutely worth checking out in that regard, and it also features a dark fantasy setting similar to 19th-century London. It's worth mentioning that Thief launched to middling reviews, but has over the years built up its own cult following.
A companion-based RPG and a stealth game are not going to be for everyone, no matter how wide a net the two games cast, but they should make many users happy. The silver lining here, for those who don't enjoy these games, is that it's only a week's wait until they know what else is coming to the Epic Games Store. Whatever replaces these two titles might just do the trick, but for now, fans will just have to wait and see.

Xbox Game Pass is losing six games on Tuesday, April 30, so subscribers should prioritize them while they still can. Games leave Xbox Game Pass every single month, most often in two batches. The first wave of removals tends to happen on the 15th of every month, while the second wave comes on the last day of every month, whenever that may be.
Bethesda's Fallout 4 will be making its debut on the Epic Games Store come April 25. Right now is a great time to be a fan of the Fallout franchise. The Fallout TV series has been a huge hit on Amazon, and Bethesda is capitalizing on this momentum by bringing content to the video games as well, including Fallout 4.
Amazon is expanding April's previously announced Prime Gaming subscription games with two additional Fallout titles, both available now via its Luma game streaming service, to celebrate the launch of its live-action Fallout TV show.

The new free titles on the Epic Games Store have been announced. The Big Con and Town of Salem 2 will replace Ghostrunner and will be available to download from April 18 to April 25.
Another Thursday means another rotation on the Epic Games Store. As of this writing, fans can no longer claim sci-fi RPG The Outer Worlds or stealth game Thief, but they can grab up cyberpunk action performer Ghostrunner. Between the three is a lot of variety in gameplay styles but also a lot of quality, as each is an excellent game with positive reviews (or a cult following in the case of Thief). Once Ghostrunner rotates out on April 18, fans will be able to claim The Big Con.
Next week’s free Epic Games Store title has been announced.
The Epic Games Store free game for April 11 is Ghostrunner. Epic Games Store users are treated to new free games on a weekly basis, with the offerings rotating every Thursday at 10:00am CT. The Epic Games Store didn't break from this established pattern with the latest free game offerings, with users able to claim two new freebies right now.
Amazon Prime Gaming’s slate of free games for April 2024 has just been revealed. As a bonus to those who subscribe to Amazon Prime, gamers can download and keep at least one free PC title a week, and they are allowed to hold onto these games even if they cancel their subscription later. Microsoft have announced April's new arrivals for the Game Pass subscription service, and it includes a cute game about being an alligator, a cute game about gardening, a cute game about fleeing a doomed planet in search of a new home among the stars, and also EA Sports PGA Tour, I guess.
Sony has announced the slate of free games arriving on PlayStation Plus in April. The PS Plus monthly games for next month include first-person spell shooter Immortals of Aveum, spinoff strategy title Minecraft Legends and roguelike-action platformer Skul: The Hero Slayer. All three games will be accessible to PS Plus subscribers across Essential, Extra and Deluxe/Premium tiers starting April 2. Sony had also confirmed the games coming to the PS Plus Game Catalog earlier this month, with NBA 2K24, Marvel's Midnight Suns and Resident Evil 3 leading the lineup.
