The highly anticipated Dragon’s Dogma 2 has confirmed a scheduled launch date. Additionally, the upcoming sequel is now available for pre-order. Dragon’s Dogma 2 is scheduled for a release date of March 22 for PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Seriex X|S. In Dragon’s Dogma 2, players will once again be stepping into the boots of the Arisen, a hero whose heart has been stolen by the dragon. This will sound familiar to fans of the 2012 original but the sequel takes place in a parallel world where two nations have different approaches to the dragon threat. In the kingdom of Vermund Queen Regent Disa has installed a false Arien to maintain of the kingdom for her son. The nation of Battahl views the otherworldly Pawns as a source of misfortune and have begun worshipping the Lambert Flame and their empress Nadinia in hopes of staving off calamity.
Player choice to expected to play a major role in journey of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Players will be able to design their Arisen and main Pawn using a deep character creator that makes use of photogrammetry to enhance the realism of each characters’ appearance. Player’s can also choose the personality of their main Pawn which will influence their behavior and conversation choices throughout the game. Both companions and foes will react to player actions, making player choice an important component of Dragon’s Dogma 2. Like the originally, progressing through the game will unlock additional vocations which includes the newly revealed Trickster. The Trickster is a vocation that is exclusive to the Arisen which can conjure illusions with the smoke from its unique weapon, the Censer. The Trickster vocation might not be the most powerful but can use their powers to increase the strength of their Pawns and tricking enemies into fighting each other. Some other confirmed returning vocations are the Warrior and Sorcerer, both of which can be utilized by the Arisen and Pawns. More details can be seen in the trailer below.
The standard edition of Dragon’s Dogma 2 is available with for MSRP $69.99. There is also a Deluxe Edition containing the “New Journey Pack” includes in-game items to help your Arisen on their journey such as a custom Camping Kit, a Wakestone, Rift Crystals, a Dragon’s Dogma Music and Sound collection, and more will be available for MSRP $79.99. Pre-orders of the Standard Edition will feature a bonus weapon for each of the four starting vocations, and Deluxe Edition pre-orders will also include the Ring of Assurance in-game accessory.
