Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Getting Big Upgrade Later This Year

The Unreal Engine 5 remake of Riven: The Sequel to Myst, previously known as Riven: New Discoveries From the Lost D'ni Empire but now officially just called plain-old Riven, is coming this year, original developer Cyan Worlds has announced. 

Nintendo has confirmed the file sizes for the upcoming Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door and Luigi's Mansion 2 HD Switch remasters. Both of these games were first announced during the September 2023 Nintendo Direct, and instantly became highly anticipated releases. Paper Mario: The Thousand-Year Door is a long-awaited remaster of the GameCube original, with Luigi's game being a complete port, bringing the classic title from the Nintendo 3DS to the Switch. Both of these remasters will also add some new gameplay features and remastered graphics.

Kemono Heroes, a Nintendo Switch exclusive game released in 2020, is being removed from the Nintendo eShop. This delisting will take place on March 30, giving Nintendo Switch gamers a little over two weeks to purchase the game before it is delisted from Nintendo's platform. Gamers interested in Kemono Heroes shouldn't be distressed over this delisting, as this will only be a temporary and the game will likely come back to the Switch platform in the near future.

A new update has been released for Tetris 99, a popular Nintendo Switch game released in 2019. This is notable in that it's the first update the game has received in nearly two years. Tetris 99 is an online battle royale take on the classic puzzle game, released exclusively on the Nintendo Switch and can only be played with an NSO subscription. This version of Tetris pits the player against 99 other players, with the goal being to be the last player remaining in the game. Despite being a little over five years old, Tetris 99 is still a popular title for Nintendo Switch gamers.

A new set of images has confirmed 11 more characters for Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero's roster, which includes fighters from Dragon Ball Z and Super. The upcoming Dragon Ball: Sparking Zero is a return to the classic Budokai Tenkaichi series, where players can engage in 3D arena battles with some of their favorite characters. One of the most important aspects of the series is its roster, featuring both popular and obscure picks. For example, Budokai Tenkaichi 3 had 161 playable fighters that came from the original series, Z, GT, and even non-canon material like the movies. Sparking Zero has the potential to have one of the largest rosters in a Dragon Ball fighting game.

The Last Case of Benedict Fox, which released day one on Xbox and PC Game Pass in April 2023, is getting a new Definitive Edition upgrade on April 26. It will be free for PC and Xbox players, thanks to Xbox Game Pass, while the new edition will cost $24.99 for PS5 players.

A recent rumor has claimed that Dragon Ball FighterZ developer Arc System Works and its publisher, Bandai Namco, have supposedly split ties. The latest update for Dragon Ball FighterZ was dropped near the end of February, adding rollback netcode to improve its online environment, as well as new PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions. While these features were things fans had waited years for, gameplay clips show that the new update has broken the game in various ways.

Manga icon Akira Toriyama’s untimely passing has led to an outpouring of emotion across the entire Internet, with tributes being paid all over social media. But one particularly poignant post that caught our attention is this clip of Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2, where fans all gathered in a lobby to pay their respects to the legendary artist:

Capcom shared an important detail regarding Dragon's Dogma 2's NPCs, stating that any deaths that happen to them in-game will be permanent. Dragon's Dogma 2 will be released on March 22, and it is one of the most anticipated games to release in 2024. As was announced back in October of last year, a PS5 version of eternally popular action title Dragon Ball XenoVerse 2 is in the works — and now, we have a release date. Bandai Namco has confirmed that the port will drop on the 24th May, and from what we gather, it'll be a free upgrade if you already own the game on PS4.

So, Dragon Age: Dreadwolf — the BioWare game that's been developed, scrapped, developed again, maybe scrapped again, and then teased for about half a decade, could finally release before the year is out. That's according to in-the-know Game Mess host Jeff Grubb (via Eurogamer), who says "[Dreadwolf] will be released this year, last I heard". He continues: «They're pretty confident about that. Doesn't mean it's a guarantee – could slip – but right now, internally, they expect to release it later this year.»
