Dofus Touch Relaunches Globally for iOS and Android

French developer Ankama relaunched the mobile MMORPG Dofus Touch on Wednesday. Available on iOS and Android, it now features a brand-new English server, an improved early game experience, and a reworked user interface.
Initially launched in 2016, Dofus Touch is one of several properties in Ankama’s shared Krosmos universe. The franchise began with the original Dofus MMO, of which Touch is a port, launched in 2004. Players explore the high fantasy World of Twelve as they unravel the mystery of the titular Dofus, magical dragon eggs. The original game still sees regular updates and has an active player base. Spinoffs like the Wakfu game and animated series also proved popular, with the show’s fourth season currently airing on Netflix.
The mobile version is typically several updates behind the PC release, but it is still fundamentally the same game. It features 15 base classes, with more available through the Incarnation mechanic. There are over 10,000 maps to explore and 70 dungeons full of loot to gather and enemies to battle. The gameplay is turn-based and cooperative, and Ankama stresses that players can access the entire game for free. Only certain cosmetics, bonus packs, and other optional services cost real money.
Dofus Touch currently has a 3.6/5 rating on Google Play and very mixed reviews. However, Wednesday’s relaunch may give players a reason to consider giving it a second look, especially given the UI improvements.
