Disney Speedstorm Makes Controversial Change to Battle Pass

Gameloft has officially launched Disney Speedstorm season 7 “Sugar Rush” which introduces a wealth of new kart racing content based on Disney’s Wreck-It Ralph series.

Tekken 8 recently added a battle pass which locks new content behind a paywall, despite the base game retailing at $69.99 with a $30 season pass. It immediately proved controversial, dragging the Steam score down to 'mixed', and things have only gotten worse in the weeks since as it now sits at an even lower 'mostly negative'.

The Tomb Raider 1-3 Remastered compilation has reportedly made a change to the game that was not mentioned in the recent update's patch notes, riling up fans about previous promises. The compilation, released earlier this year, brings back the iconic original trilogy of Lara Croft's adventures that turned the franchise into a household name in gaming. The remakes have seen praise for their graphical enhancements to the classic adventure games, as well as several quality-of-life upgrades. Now, however, an unmentioned part of the most recent update is making a controversial change.

Disney Speedstorm always seems to be doing confusing things, but last week they kinda ticked off a lot of their fanbase. The developers of the game recently announced the theme of Season 7, which is Wreck-it Ralph, while right now we are still in Season 6 which is The Little Mermaid.

Gameloft has hinted at a possible U-turn over criticism it has received for future Disney Speedstorm season pass plans.

The latest season for Overwatch 2 finally allows players to permanently unlock and play as Venture, but fans have noticed that despite this new character playing a central role in the latest season, it seems they'll be getting an extremely slim pool of skins to choose from — for now, at least. Though Overwatch 2's Season 10: Venture Forth event does pack a long list of interesting skins for a wide variety of heroes, it appears these come at the cost of cosmetics for the drill-wielding damage hero.

Overwatch 2 has just released its big blowout trailer for Season 10, named Venture Forth, which shares the name of the game's newest DPS hero, Venture. Players recently had the chance to go hands-on with Venture for a trial weekend, giving the Overwatch team an opportunity to see how the new hero performs live in-game. Venture will also be the firstnew Overwatch 2 hero to be unlocked automatically for everyone without requiring them to purchase the Battle Pass.

The community is in flames as an announcement from developer Gameloft regarding the game's monetization has prompted players to begin refunding any and all purchases. Released in 2023, the free-to-play race may not be a mainstream hit like its closest competitor but solid reviews and decent post-launch support have helped it establish a solid community of players who enjoy its take on kart-racing and Disney characters. Unfortunately, Gameloft has seemingly burnt many bridges after announcing that all future premium Golden Pass tracks will be locked behind real money.
