Microsoft has announced that, following its acquisition of Activision Blizzard, games developed and published by the latter will finally be coming to PC and Xbox Game Pass. Kicking things off will be Diablo 4, which will come to the service on March 28. The announcement was made in the latest episode of the official Xbox podcast where the company wanted to talk about the future of Xbox.
“It’s all part of our commitment to make Xbox, the Xbox experience, and the games that we build as widely available as possible,” said Xbox president Sarah Bond. “So now the 34 million Game Pass members can all enjoy the fantastic experience of Diablo 4.”
While Diablo 4 is likely to be only the first of Activision Blizzard titles coming to Game Pass, Xbox hasn’t yet revealed any plans to bring other titles, like Call of Duty, or even subscription-based MMORPG World of Warcraft to the subscription service yet.
The announcement comes hot on the heels of Xbox announcing that it is bringing four of its currently-unnamed first-party titles to other platforms. Xbox CEO Phil Spencer goes on to talk about how, despite the company expanding its outreach with multi-platform game releases and new titles coming to Game Pass, this isn’t a change in strategy for the company.
