Diablo 4 is bringing some changes in a midseason update, specifically bringing back new abilities that the game had introduced in the previous season. The new update will also finally deliver some specific features the team had promised for season three of Diablo 4.
Diablo 4 is enjoying a steady post-launch period nearly a year since its release, as Blizzard is able to regularly provide fans with new content. The game is currently in the Season of the Construct, which focuses on a new questline involving the demon Malphas and the Loom, a piece of ancient technology that can leave a great impact on the world of Sanctuary. As always, players who want to complete the new content must create a new character in the game's Seasonal Realm.
In a recent Campfire Chat, the Diablo 4 team confirmed that some of the Vampiric Powers introduced in Season 2, which were removed at the beginning of this new season, are coming back in a slightly modified form when the update goes live on March 5. Those Season of Blood powers will now be Legendary Powers, and they have been tweaked to be more «sustainable» in gameplay moving forward. So far, the team confirmed only six powers returning in the update.
The most popular Diablo 4 Vampiric Powers are being brought back, including Metamorphosis and Accursed Touch. The fan-favorite Metamorphosis will get quite the upgrade, as the Unstoppable state is being buffed to 2.5 seconds from the original 2, while Accursed Touch is receiving a bump to its Lucky Hit chance. The other powers that are being carried over will be either maintained or slightly nerfed. Other changes announced include the arrival of the hyped Gauntlet trial mode and leaderboards, as well as fixes to some game features and balance updates to all classes and the Seneschal companion.
Meanwhile, there's no new word yet on Diablo 4's future post-launch content. Its upcoming expansion Vessel of Hatred is scheduled to arrive in late 2024 with no specific month mentioned, and the fourth season hasn't been announced yet either. The game's player base is still relatively healthy, but it's now far from the huge numbers it had at launch.
Those who haven't gotten around to trying the game will soon have another way to access it, as Diablo 4 is coming to Xbox Game Pass on March 28. The recently concluded Activision Blizzard and Microsoft merger facilitated this move, allowing for greater accessibility, especially for those who might not have wanted to pay full retail price for it at launch. There's no word yet, however, on whether any new Diablo 4 expansions will be immediately available to Game Pass users.

Confession time: I already have a copy of Final Fantasy XVI and Final Fantasy VII Rebirth for the PS5 even though I still don't have a PlayStation 5 console. I never get consoles the moment they come out and usually wait a few years for their next version. In the PlayStation 5's case, I thought it was going to be the PS5 Slim, but it looks like I could have another option by the end of the year: The PlayStation 5 Pro. Tom Henderson of Insider Gaming says the PS5 Pro details leaked by the Moore’s Law is Dead YouTube channel came from documentation Sony itself recently sent to third-party developers.
