Diablo 4 Livestream Announced for March 20th, Details Season 4 Itemization Changes

The first Public Test Realm for Diablo 4 is now live, and many players are itching to get their hands on the new content and systems. However, there is yet to be a reveal of Season 4's theme — and there won't be on the PTR itself, according to Blizzard. Diablo 4 PTR Patch 1.4.0 Patch Notes Now Available Diablo 4 PTR Now Live Associate Game Director Joe Piepiora responded to player questions about the Season 4 reveal and that it will not be made known until some time after the PTR goes down. Piepiora went on to add context to the matter in another reply, suggesting that the PTR is squarely focused on huge amount of systems and itemization changes coming to the game. This is fairly understandable considering the scope of Patch 1.4.0. Adding the seasonal content on top of that would split the focus of not only the developers, but the playerbase engaging in the PTR for testing and feedback as well. But the question at this point is: when will the Season 4 reveal be? Diablo 4's 4th Season is confirmed to start on May 14th, and the PTR ends on April 9th. This leaves 35 days between the end of the PTR and the start of Season 4. If Blizzard gives at least a week for the final Patch Notes to be public and some time to prepare after the PTR ends, we could potentially expect the Season 4 reveal to be somewhere near April 30th. However, we do have one slight hint as to what the Season 4 theme could be. During the PTR, this placeholder Season banner was discovered: While this could be easily and most likely be a placeholder name for the Season, the huge reworks to itemization and loot overall does at least lend some credibility towards the general theme the season might be going for.

Blizzard has unlocked the Diablo 4 PTR forums and released a statement regarding known issues and what to expect regarding the upcoming Season 4 PTR. These include several issues regarding Tempering and Masterworking, the two new crafting systems coming in Season 4, and other updated content. Global Diablo Community Development Director Adam Fletcher also stated that players will need to finish the prologue to gain access to the Boost NPC for now; however, the team is working on a solution for this this in the near future.

Diablo 4's Season 4's full launch may have been delayed, but its Public Test Realm release is right around the corner, with its patch notes set to drop very soon. Even though we don't know exactly what they're going to contain yet, we do know one thing – they're going to be absolutely enormous.

If you've ever fought against Uber Echo of Lilith in Diablo 4, you may have had some frustration with the hitboxes and the visibility of some of her attacks. Diablo 4 Lead Class Designer, Adam Jackson has confirmed that in Diablo 4's first PTR, some changes will be coming to the Uber Lilith encounter, including more accurate hitboxes and fewer one-shot mechanics. Blizzard has delayed the fourth season of Diablo 4 by a month, to a new release date of 14th May.

Fans are still waiting for a full reveal of what can be expected from Diablo IV Season 4, but today during their latest “Campfire Chat,” Blizzard revealed some of the nitty gritty things players need to know about the season. First off, Season 4 will be arriving later than expected, as Blizzard wants to make sure that feedback from Diablo IV’s first public test realm will be fully incorporated. So, instead of coming out on April 16 as previously promised, Season 4 will arrive on May 14.

During its latest Campfire Chat livestream for Diablo 4, Blizzard revealed that its first Public Test Realm for the title would go live on April 2nd for PC players. Servers will be available until April 9th for North America, Europe, Southeast Asia, Korea/Japan, and Australia, allowing players to try out the long-awaited loot overhaul.
