Dead Island 2’s first story expansion launches in November

With how much Dead Island 2’s apocalypse parody poked fun at the Los Angeles area earlier this year, I guess it was only a matter of time before it turned its attention from vicious zombies to equally mindless cultists. I mean, how could they forget California’s reputation for welcoming eccentric people who then take advantage of our tolerance by brainwashing vast swathes of the population? Thankfully, this is something developer Dambuster Studios has corrected with its first DLC, Haus, which transports your character to a cult compound in Malibu where you’ll rub elbows with rich elites and smack down zombies who look like they’re dressed for the runway. And while I won't turn my nose up at a few more good laughs from a game I enjoyed, a three-hour runtime and very few new wrinkles to change up Dead Island 2’s basic zombie slashing formula make this jaunt extremely short-lived and a little unexciting.

Disney Dreamlight Valley will remain a paid game when it leaves early access this December.

The Walking Dead: Destinies now has a release date of November 17. The action/adventure game is based on the The Walking Dead TV series, and will be coming to PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. The title has also gotten a new gameplay trailer which you can check out below.

The release date for the slimmer and lighter mid-gen refresh of the PS5 has seemingly leaked online, alongside details about its first bundle. As per reliable tipster Billbil-kun — notorious for accurately leaking monthly PS Plus games ahead of time — the new PlayStation consoles with smaller form factor will go on sale November 10 in the US before spreading out to other regions; both disc and digital versions. A bit before that, on November 8, Sony would be bundling it with the newly launched Marvel's Spider-Man 2 at $559.99, which is the same amount as the existing standard edition bundle. While not explicitly mentioned, the content should be the same, with a digital voucher for the game, alongside a themed controller.

Narrative-driven action adventure game The Walking Dead: Destinies will launch digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Switch, and PC via Steam on November 17, followed by a physical release in December, publisher GameMill Entertainment and developer Flux Games announced.

Life simulation game Coral Island will leave Early Access and launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and PC via Steam and Microsoft Store on November 14, publisher Humble Games and developer Stairway Games announced. It will also be available via Xbox Game Pass.

NetherRealm Studios has released a trailer for the first DLC character coming to Mortal Kombat 1 – Omni-Man from Invincible. Voiced by J.K. Simmons, the Viltrumite showcases his raw, unrelenting power and speed, besting even the likes of Fire God Liu Kang. Check it out below.

The expansion will see players venture to a completely new post-apocalyptic area to deal with a mysterious cult and will include completely new weapons and skill cards to aid them on this mission.

Haus, the first story expansion for the zombie beatdown romp Dead Island 2, promises to take players on a journey through a «surreal, psycho-horror dreamscape» as they investigate a previously unknown cult that's fighting to survive (and spread a somewhat dubious vision for the future of humanity) in an all-new region of undead-infested Los Angeles.
