Cyberpunk 2077 is set to receive a host of new content with its first and only expansion, Phantom Liberty, but alongside that, CD Projekt RED will also be releasing a significant free update for the base game itself on current-gen consols and PC that will overhaul and improve several of its underlying systems and mechanics, from progression and skill trees to dynamic police chases. Another system that’s seeing a radical revamp is vehicle combat, which CD Projekt RED has offered more details on in a newly published update.
With Update 2.0, players in Cyberpunk 2077 (and Phantom Liberty, of course) will have multiple ways to engage in combat while driving vehicles, the most obvious being just whipping out your weapon and firing it at others while you’re still behind the wheel. While driving bikes, you’ll even be able to use melee weapons, and can even use katanas and the like to slash enemy vehicles’ tires.
Another option will be to use new mounted weapons – specifically, automated gatling guns – which can be found on certain nomad cars utilizing CrystalDome tech. Finally, you will also be able to utilize your skills as a Netrunner, and using your hacking abilities, can force cars to keep accelerating, suddenly slam their brakes, or even outright explode.
As for when we can expect to get our hands on these features, CD Projekt RED has said it’ll be sharing Update 2.0’s release date details sometime this week.
Cyberpunk 2077: Phantom Liberty, meanwhile, launches on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC on September 26.

We’ve all had the moment in-game where we outsmart the AI while casually picking them off one by one as the game tries to figure out what’s happening. In many different titles, we, the players, are often smart enough to figure out the AI script limitations and holes that can be manipulated for our gain. This has been the case for Cyberpunk 2077 for a while now, and the game’s infamous clueless enemies are looking to change that narrative.
Alright, here's something I barely clocked after 30 hours with Phantom Liberty and now can't unsee: they gave Johnny Silverhand a got dang reverse facelift. Digital Keanu Reeves is just that much more craggy and aged now, looking less like a Keanu Reeves mannequin and more like the man himself.
Developer CD Projekt Red officially launched ’s long-awaited 2.0 update. A free patch released in preparation for the game’s, update 2.0 is a massive overhaul of Cyberpunk 2077. However, it’s only available for the PC and next-gen consoles and has higher PC system requirements than before.
It has been a rollercoaster ride for Cyberpunk 2077, CD Projekt Red's latest open-world action RPG so far. At launch, the game was plagued with so many bugs, glitches, and performance issues that it was almost unplayable, especially on old-generation consoles such as PS4, and Xbox One. While it performed a bit better on newer consoles, the PC was the only platform where players could fully enjoy Night City and its adventures. However, all that is in the past as the developers at CD Projekt Red have been determined to bring it to the level they initially envisioned, with numerous updates that not only fix bugs but also bring new content.
