CRKD introduced the Nitro Deck last year, a Nintendo Switch accessory that aims to enhance the experience you have with your console when using it in handheld that also doubles as a Switch Pro controller. Other designs for the Deck have been released since the initial launch, and now CRKD has teamed up with the creators of Hellboy for the best-looking Nitro Deck yet, as well as a special edition version of its new Neo S controller to boot.
The collaboration with Dark Horse Comics has taken artwork from Omnibus Volume 1, Seed of Destruction and has been created with input from Hellboy creator Mike Mignola. Hellboy is on the left of the Deck with tentacles starting at the base of his design and stretching all the way around the right of the accessory. The back of the Deck is a light grey with hellish red back buttons and a Hellboy logo printed just off-center.
The matching Neo S controller has the same designs on the front and the back just far more condensed since it's a smaller accessory and doesn't need a big gap in the middle for your Switch screen. CRKD's new controller is a far more recent addition to its collection, revealed in February. The collection kicked off with nine designs to choose from, some of which were created by POPeART, the controller designer behind 2023's Yorkshire Tea DualSense and Xbox controllers.
The Nitro Deck is a Nintendo Switch accessory designed to improve your experience with the console in many ways. It feels more comfortable to hold, adds back buttons, and even doubles as a pro controller.
The Hellboy Nitro Deck and Neo S are available to pre-order now through the links in the boxes above and below, each priced at $59.99 and expected to ship in June. There's also a chance to win them both for a limited time. The sweepstake will run for eight weeks with a Hellboy Nitro Deck and Neo S being given away to two lucky winners. Both of the accessories will be signed by Mignola, something that will naturally not apply to the ones you buy, making the Deck and controller won in the contest truly unique.
The Neo S was created by CRKD as the sister controller to its Nitro Deck. Even though the Deck is only compatible with Nintendo Switch, the Neo S can be used with PC and mobile and is available in a variety of designs, some of which were a part of a POPeART collaboration.
For those unfamiliar with the Deck, the accessory is effectively an alternative to your Joy-Con. Your Switch screen slots into the Deck, giving you a more comfortable way to play as well as adding new features including mappable back buttons. It can also be used as a controller when your Switch is docked. The Nitro Deck Plus is coming later this year which will further build on the base accessory's
