Critical Role’s next game, Daggerheart, will be available to download for free

Blizzard has revealed big changes to Overwatch 2, changes from how the game has been operating from the very beginning.

Bungie's next game, Marathon, has reportedly undergone major changes in recent months, including its game director being replaced with Valorant's former director, who has been with Bungie since 2022. Sources also claim that the direction of Bungie's next title has slightly shifted.

Assetto Corsa developer Kunos Simulazioni has said that the next game in the sim racing franchise will not be a spin-off like Assetto Corsa Competizione, and will instead be a proper sequel.

I'm struck by the fact that I've spent exactly half of my life, a full 15 years, waiting on a new anime adaptation for Spice and Wolf, and now it's finally airing next month via Crunchyroll.

The cast of Critical Role marks its ninth anniversary this week, and to celebrate they’ve launched the beta version of Daggerheart, a wholly new role-playing game to be published by their Darrington Press imprint. It’s a Dungeons & Dragons competitor that has been in development for a few years now and the beta version is massive, with a draft manuscript alone clocking in at nearly 380 pages. Thankfully, the eight-person cast is here to make it a whole lot simpler — and more fun — with a raucous session of character generation.

Daggerheart is officially in open beta. An early version of the anticipated TTRPG system from Critical Role’s Darrington Press is available for free via a downloadable packet of PDFs from DriveThruRPG and from the Daggerheart website. You can also try out an early version of the game’s character creation tool at Demiplane. Darrington Press is encouraging players to share feedback on the game’s systems throughout this process, and will be releasing improved versions ahead of the full release in 2025.

Ahead of launching Dragon's Dogma 2 later this month, Capcom have released its character creator for free as a separate standalone doodad. You can create your character and your main Pawn (NPC sidekick) and save them to use in the full game. Or, if you're like me and cannot resist playing for hours in a character creator, you can enjoy fiddling with its many sliders and marvelling at the breadth of options like 334 different colours for its four eye colour settings and the ability to remove individual teeth. I made my kitten as my pal, because I guess that's what I do now.

Naughty Dog announced in December that it had cancelled The Last of Us Online, but stated at the same time that it was working on multiple “ambitious, brand new” single player games. We’ve known for a while that at least one of those is being directed by Neil Druckmann – co-president of Naughty Dog and director of the Last of Us games and Uncharted 4 – and speaking recently on rapper Logic’s podcast Logically Speaking.

Following game concepts including Max Payne with vampires, Kojima's Strands with witches, organ trading, and an airport for aliens currently run by dogs, Xalavier Nelson Jr's Strange Scaffold studio are back with another doozy. They've announced a release date of April 16th for Life Eater, a game about a modern-day druid who must kidnap and sacrifice people every year to sate a dark god and keep the world from ending. I know what you're thinking: surely he's insane in the membrane, insane in the brain. But what if he isn't?

Respawn Entertainment's next game is reportedly now in the prototype phase and is set in the Titanfall universe.
