Mounts are always a popular item in Final Fantasy XIV, whether they are rewarded for in-game content or purchased for real money in the Online Store. The latest addition to the store, the Crescent Moon Mount, is a particularly awaited one.
We’ve known that this mount has been coming for a while and especially attentive players have noticed that it’s been included in the FFXIVCollect database for a few months. There had been speculation about whether this item would come in the form of a Seasonal Event reward, but those can now be laid to rest.
The mount is, as the name suggests, a Crescent Moon draped in white fabric that glows in the dark and while riding it, you’ll be accompanied by a small Lopporit who sits beside you. The music is typical of Online Store mounts, playing the Palace of the Dead theme, otherwise known as the ‘Merry Wanderer’s Waltz’, as you glide through the skies.
The description for the mount reads as follows:
“Designed in the likeness of a crescent moon, this magicked gondola was being kept in storage in Sharlayan, where it was classified as a gift. While its origin is undisclosed, the automaton that accompanies the contraption offers a telling clue. The trail of sparkles left in your wake will make you feel as though you’re truly playing among the stars…”
The Crescent Moon Mount costs 24 USD and is thankfully account-wide, which means that you’ll only have to purchase it once and you’ll be able to use it with all existing characters, as well as any that you create in the future.
