Concord’s Next Announcement Will Occur by June 7th – Rumor

Developer Arrowhead Game Studios has revealed that the next major update for Helldivers 2 will be bringing more than 100 changes to the game, including a host of bug fixes. As caught by IGN, the studio made a post on the official Discord channel for Helldivers 2.

In the last few months, Xbox has begun pivoting its release model by launching some of the console's popular exclusive games on other devices, a move that's managed to frustrate long-time players demanding quality first-party experiences. The first bundle of Xbox exclusives to cross the console divide and end up on PlayStation 5 and Nintendo Switch included and, but they may soon be joined by Master Chief.

At last week’s State of Play presentation, we got our first good look at Concord, with Sony confirming that Firewalk Studios’ 5v5 hero shooter will be releasing for PlayStation and PC this August. Pre-orders are set to go live on June 6, which means details have yet to be formally shared on what the game’s pricing will be- though some regional pricing may have yielded some clues on that front.

Neil Druckmann, the co-studio head of The Last of Us, Uncharted creator Naughty Dog, has pushed back on comments he supposedly made in a recent Sony interview released alongside this week's Corporate Strategy Meeting. Druckmann is quoted as saying the developer's next first-party title could «redefine mainstream perceptions of gaming», but he says on Twitter he never actually said that. Like, at all.

Bloody hell, it's finally happening. While it might not be a full-on PlayStation Showcase — as was rumoured — Sony is putting on a State of Play broadcast, which will be its first event since February. The 30-minute showing promises a look at 14 games, but what's actually in store for us starved PlayStation fans?

Though Sony didn’t have too many first-party heavy hitters at State of Play, it finally revealed Concord, Firewalk Studios’ competitive shooter. Launching August 23rd for PS5 and PC, the 5v5 title gives a Guardians of the Galaxy vibe with its distinct cast and sci-fi universe.

While we’ve known about the existence of Concord for over a year now, Sony’s new PvP multiplayer shooter has remained quite mysterious. The game is the work of Firewalk Studios, a new startup headed up by a team of Destiny vets, and teasers have hinted at a colorful, character-driven approach to the genre. Beyond that, details have been scant.

Today, as part of State of Play, we are excited to reveal a first look at the gameplay, universe, and characters of Concord, as well as how and when you’ll be able to get your hands on the game–starting with a beta planned for later this year, followed by Concord’s global launch on PS5 and PC* on August 23, 2024.

Rumblings of a PlayStation Showcase (or some sort of PlayStation-focused event) have been growing louder, and with the event expected to be happening sometime before the end of this month, details around what announcements it’ll bring are continuing to leak and filter through as well.
