Cliff Bleszinski’ LawBreakers appears to be making a comeback, thanks to a group of modders who have been working hard to restore the game's online features.
Remember 2017's Nexon-published multiplayer shooter from Gears creator Cliff Bleszinski? The game from Bleszinski's studio, Boss Key Productions, wasn't that successful, and the game was shut down after the closure of Bleszinski's studio back in 2018.

For quite some time now, however, a group of dedicated modders have been working to revive the shooter in some form through the "RELB Project". According to the team, the project aims to "bring back" LawBreakers by creating 'fake' servers that the original game client uses. Players can then download the launcher, patch the game, and play like normal. Last weekend, the modders performed a stress test for their project. Interestingly, Cliff Bleszinski himself backed the project on X.
"We're not yet sure when the next playtest will be, we're thinking of doing another one soon but we'll have to decide on the details once we've properly reflected on this one", the team behind the project wrote on Discord. "Even with all the issues seen during the stress test our primary goal was to see if our whole backend could handle a large amount of players and it's held up beautifully."
It will be interesting to see how this project develops in the future. We'll keep you updated.
Released in 2017 for PC and PlayStation, LawBreakers was quite entertaining, offering neat skill-based gameplay and top-notch balancing. You can read more about the game in our launch review back then. Following the game's launch on PC, Brzezinski talked about the possibility of bringing the game to Xbox, although he believed that Microsoft probably felt offended for not considering Xbox as a launch platform.
“And in regards to considering doing an Xbox version", Bleszinski said in 2017. "I'd love to, but there's still other discussions that need to be had. And I think, you look at Xbox ... from my prior work, and I think they felt miffed and kind of rejected, that we chose PlayStation, but for us it was just a matter of install based for PlayStation at the time, and then considering we'd see for Xbox down the line.”

Rail shooter game Rainbow Cotton, a former Dreamcast exclusive, is releasing on modern platforms come Thursday, May 9. The Dreamcast was the last console ever released by Sega. It failed to sell enough units to keep the company in the console hardware business, causing Sega to pivot to almost exclusively developing software. Even so, the Dreamcast is often pointed to as one of the most underrated consoles ever produced, as it featured a number of important innovations and featured a library of high-quality games.
It's looking increasingly likely that the 2015 Wii U exclusive Kirby and the Rainbow Curse is coming to the Nintendo Switch at some point in the near future. It's no secret that the Wii U was a sales failure for Nintendo, and so the company's decision to port many of the platform's biggest exclusives to the Switch made a lot of sense.
Amid the rumors surrounding Nintendo's upcoming Switch 2 console, sources stated that it will be deliberately underclocked in handheld mode to prolong battery life and could be more powerful than anticipated while in its TV dock. The same rumors also stated that the Switch 2 could output up to four teraflops of graphical power while docked, which is more than anticipated in previous rumors.
In the wake of World of Warcraft: Dragonflight Season 4, some players reported a bug in Awakened raids that made the Shadow Priest's Devouring Plague spell heal for over four times the percentage it usually does, which makes the dark spell casters nearly invincible. Despite the mounting evidence, World of Warcraft has not released a fix for this issue at the time of writing.

After LawBreakers developer Boss Key Productions shut down following the game's poor performance, it was thought that would be the end of the gravity-defying FPS. So traumatic was the entire ordeal that Cliff Blezinski, studio founder of Gears of War fame, swore off making video games for good. Now, years later, fans have managed to resurrect servers, even getting the much-coveted nod of approval from Cliffy B himself for keeping the dream alive.
The popular Atari franchise Yars is making a comeback with Yars Rising. The original Yars Revenge is an iconic game from 1982. Yars initially was met with lukewarm reception, but fans have pushed the game into cult-classic status.
