Clash Mini Shutting Down Soon With A ‘Royale’ Surprise In Store

The Pokemon Company has officially shut down its Pokemon TV app, sunsetting the anime streaming app available for fans on Switch. Since its debut in the late 1990s, the Pokemon anime has been one of the most popular facets of the massively popular monster-catching franchise, airing consistently for more than 25 years. The franchise has typically debuted a new series of the anime to coincide with each of its new game releases, featuring the most recent games' new region and Pokemon. Now, however, one popular way of watching the anime has now been shut down.

Velan Studios' director of marketing, Josh Harrison, has one recommendation for studios looking to close down or «sunset» a live-service game: «make a private hosted version of your game».

A long-running website for Pokémon fan game enthusiasts has shut down after being served a DMCA takedown notice.

Popular Pokemon fan website Relic Castle, which has been running since 2014, has been taken offline after those in charge of it allegedly received a DMCA takedown notice. The website previously functioned as a forum for Pokemon fans to talk, as well as a place to share fan-made Pokemon games.

Call of Duty cheat provider Interwebz has announced it's ceasing operations after receiving a legal notice from an unnamed party. The most likely source of the notice is Call of Duty publisher Activision.

Call of Duty is against all cheating inside of its games, so recently a cheat provider called Interwebz received legal papers and have decided to shut down their services. They released an announcement on Twitter that they wouldn’t be continuing business and while some players might be “sad” because they came to trust them, that this would be the best option for them.

EA has added yet another game to its running list of titles being shut down this year, with NHL 20 unfortunately on the chopping block. EA keeps a running list of all its games that will have their online connectivity severed. This way, fans of EA's games have plenty of time to play titles to their fullest before they lose key components of their functionality, but it's always disappointing whenever a game is shut down.

The console wars are a tale as old as time—or at least as old as the point when games consoles from multiple companies came onto the market. Whether Sega claimed to do what Nintendon't or actual customers determined to justify why their console of choice was objectively the best, this war continues to rage on to this day. However, even as far back as the 90s, it wasn't an ideology that Nintendo wanted to promote.

LA-based studio Deviation Games has closed down, the studios Human Resources and Operations Officer Kriste Stull has confirmed in a LinkedIn post. The studio had been working on a game in partnership with Sony.

Over the past year, layoffs and closures have swept the gaming industry, and PlayStation partner Deviation Games is the latest victim of this misfortune. The studio was founded in 2020 by Jason Blundell and Dave Anthony, both known for their work on the Call of Duty franchise. The studio had partnered with PlayStation in an effort to develop an unannounced AAA title, and there were high fan expectations for the end result of this collaboration because of how these people had shaped the visions of some of the best received Call of Duty games.

Bogo, the beloved virtual reality pet app, will unfortunately no longer be available to play starting on March 15. The Meta Quest team has officially communicated to all Bogo owners via e-mail that all support for the game will cease across all Meta platforms starting Friday, March 15, 2024, at 11:59 PM PT.
