Because 30 years ago was the first time Aussies could buy Mortal Kombat on Mega Drive, and then enter ABACABB for the blood code. Speaking of, I'm seeing plenty of great deals on the upcoming reboot, Mortal Kombat 1, right here. I genuinely like how it's breathing fresh new life into the franchise with death.

Day of the Devs has announced that they’ll be highlighting indie games in Day of the Devs: Game Awards Edition. This will put smaller developers in the spotlight on December 6th in a livestream as part of the weeklong Game Awards celebration.

It's finally time for everybody — not just the early access folks — to get them some Starfield. You, uh, may have noticed the odd video on this site about this RPG. Things worth mentioning specifically: Activision is celebrating 25 years of Spyro today with some discounts, and I'm sitting here wondering how it's been a quarter of a century since I first dragon-horn-butted and/or immolated my first sheep. Lastly, I've also spotted a decent Rebellion sale for PC gamers, and Tears of the Kingdom is back to its lowest pricepoint, too. Throw some rupees at that, for sure.

AmidStarfield’s early access release, another sci-fi title has seen the return of its “favorite” vendor. Xur is available in Bungie’s Destiny 2, hanging out in the EDZ before the weekly reset. He’s carrying some interesting Exotics, including the Prometheus Lens.

Today is a hump day of eclectic deals with no particular throughline. "Cheap stuff that's good and worth owning" — that's all I can say for it. If you put a gun to my head and told me to pick the best ones, I'd have to go with the ludicrous longevity represented in a 22% cheaper Diablo IV on PC or a 67% off Diablo III Collection on Xbox. Great games played solo. Phenomenal games in two-player or four-player co-op, respectively.

It’s a big week, folks! There’s new fantasy TV on Prime Video, new animated fantasy on Netflix, new wacky animated fantasy on Max, and new ballet school fantasy on Hulu — OK, you get the picture. There’s a lot of fantasy coming this week! Even more if you count One Piece on Netflix (which I only sort of do, but not really).

Diablo 4 will hand out 25% more gold and experience from September 1 through September 5 as part of its first "Blessings Aplenty" event.
