Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III Gameplay Reveal Trailer Showcases Sandbox-Like Campaign, 'No Russian' Mission

During today’s Gamescom ONL we got our first look of a campaign level footage. Meanwhile, the presentation also highlighted open combat missions where the objectives can be tackled how players see fit. 

Gamescom Opening Night Live provided a platform for a new gameplay walkthrough of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. The video focuses on a new wrinkle called Open Combat Missions. These are player-directed missions, letting players engage how they want.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3, after much teasing, has been laid bare, with Activision releasing an explosive gameplay reveal trailer. A direct sequel to last year's Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2, we got a good look at what the next COD looks like, with a helpful writeup over on the PlayStation Blog filling in the gaps.

With Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3’s recent global unveiling, Activision lifted the lid on some of the biggest headlining features in this year’s game, from its single player campaign to its multiplayer component to its redefined Zombies experience. Pretty soon, more details and footage on the shooter will also be showcased.

Modern Warfare 3 was little more than a whisper in the wind for much of 2023, but Sledgehammer Games’ upcoming title has finally seen the light of day. The studio delighted fans with a barrage of information on the week of August 10, and the in-game reveal event in Warzone 2.0 on August 17th shed even more light on what people can expect.

Publisher Activision and developer Sledgehammer Games have released gameplay reveal trailer and first details for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, as well as confirmed its launch across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on November 10. Digital pre-orders are available now via PlayStation Store, Microsoft Store, Steam, and Battle.net.

There was plenty of hype built up over the next Call of Duty installment. We’ve seen several leaks pop up, with Activision finally confirming that the next game was Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III. For those who took part in the special in-game event in Call of Duty Warzone, you were treated to the official gameplay trailer reveal for this year’s installment of the long-running video game franchise. But there’s another confirmation we can provide today. While previously rumored, it looks like your favorite past Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II maps will be present in the upcoming game.

Minutes ago in Call of Duty Warzone 2.0, the first in-engine trailer for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III was revealed. The trailer mainly focuses on the new MWIII campaign, which looks to be fairly dark and intense, with references to past CoD campaigns and memorable moments, including the infamous “No Russian” mission. How that mission, which controversially had players take part in a mass killing, will be adapted for 2023 remains to be seen. You can check out the trailer for yourself, below.
