Brilliant retro shooter Dusk just got an HD remaster on Steam as free DLC

There are a lot of strange MMOs out there, and to throw one more onto the pile, Super Cube 3D just released on Steam. The game is a party platformer, where players take on the guide of blocks and hop along against increasingly difficult challenges.

Hogwarts Legacy only arrived on Nintendo Switch last month, but the port of one of 2023's biggest games has been stubborn in its price so far. Usually we see these later ports jumping straight into Nintendo Switch deals, but this game survived even Black Friday without a price cut. That all came to a head this weekend, though. 

It's been a while since I dove headfirst into a milsim, but Offworld Industries' bid to revitalize its WW2 spinoff of Squad makes me want to clear my calendar. Post Scriptum (2018) has been fully acquired by publisher and Squad developer Offworld Industries, who's slapped on a new label that better reflects what you're getting: Squad, but set in 1944.

God of War Ragnarok’s hotly anticipated free DLC expansion Valhalla, due out later today, will add more Trophies to the game – although they’ll be listed separately from the campaign, so you won’t need to worry about them if you haven’t earned the Platinum just yet. Writing on Twitter, game director Mihir Sheth confirmed the tidbit.

Batman: Arkham Knight owners can now cosplay as Robert Pattinson’s caped crusader from The Batman, with a free skin available for all versions of the game. If you’re having a bit of déjà vu right now, it’s because that Batman costume was released (and then retracted) in the Epic Games Store release of Arkham Knight way back in October, and was also made available in the Nintendo Switch collection that just came out.

I haven’t been keeping up with player reaction to the latest Twar and Twarhammer games, but it seems players are none too pleased with Creative Assembly right now. In a rather dramatic open letter, the company's vice president Roger Collum has acknowledged that Total War: Warhammer 3’s Shadows of Change add-on and the recent historical strategy outing Total War: Pharaoh did not ship in a desirable state, with complaints ranging from wobbly execution to overpricing. The studio will try to make things right by offering partial refunds to Pharaoh owners and giving away DLC on top of the usual updates.

Aeternum Game Studios has released the free Summum Aeterna downloadable content “The Witcher Awakening.”

New Blood Interactive have released a free HD DLC remaster for their reputation-making retro FPS Dusk, almost five years to the day since the original shooter launched on Steam. Honestly, the idea of remastering an alt-history "199X"-style homage to Half-Life and Doom does a number on my sense of time - which multiversal branch are we in now? Still, those gibbable demon Klansters certainly look swish. Find a comparison trailer below:

In honor of Doom's 30th birthday, a team of Doom modders led by Joshua «Dragonfly» O'Sullivan just released a sequel to six-episode Doom megawad Eviternity. Eviternity two likewise has six chapters, each made up of five maps with one secret map per chapter. That's a grand total of 36 maps you can download right now.

One of the smaller pleasant surprises at this year's Game Awards was the announcement of a free, Dredge-themed crossover DLC for Dave the Diver. The two fishing games will collide when the update launches on December 15.

Sony’s Santa Monica Studio had a big surprise for God of War fans at Thursday’s The Game Awards: free DLC for God of War Ragnarök. There’s a second surprise — it’s out in just a few days.
