Baldur's Gate 3 players are down bad. That's hardly news at this point - we've all seen how the playerbase talks about Astarion. And honestly, same. For all of the choices the game throws at you, none were harder than deciding who to romance out of him and Karlach. But for some of you, the available paramours just aren't enough, and you want other NPCs to be open for getting down and dirty too.
For some ungodly reason, many of you want to get jiggy with Enver Gortash, one of the biggest pricks in the game. Many players want him to be a romance option for The Dark Urge in particular, for spoiler-y reasons that I will get to below. I guess that aging-emo look is just so hard to resist, right? Well, whatever floats your boat and Baldurs your Gate.

Slight spoilers for The Dark Urge origin and Act 3 of Baldur's Gate 3In the Baldur's Gate 3 subreddit, players are sharing which characters they wish they could romance, or at least shack up with for the night. The expected names pop up - Isobel, Aylin, Dammon, Zevlor - but that's just not enough for some players. No, they want Gortash, despite, you know, everything about him.
Many, many players wish their Dark Urge characters could hook up with Gortash, given that the two share a history. Unlike custom characters - commonly referred to as Tavs - The Dark Urge has a prewritten backstory that you slowly uncover throughout the game, explaining why you have those titular dark urges to be a violent asshole. To little surprise, someone with that kind of shit going on in their head has worked with Gortash before, and given how he describes your past, it does seem that he was rather fond of you.
Look, I get it, we all love a bad guy. And let's not pretend we don't all have a loose relationship with morality when Baldur's Gate 3 is involved. But c'mon, what would Karlach think? Poor girlie has been through enough, she hardly needs her new pal bonking the guy who signed her death warrant. Be better - be the person Karlach thinks you are. You've got this.
That said, Larian has been known to listen to its fans, as we saw with the whole His Majesty's fur debacle. It's widely assumed that Baldur's Gate 3 will get a "definitive edition" like previous Larian games, adding more content that couldn't make it in before launch, so who knows? Maybe, in a few years from now, Gortash will have a full romance that reigns supreme. For now, your bad boy desires will have to be met by Astarion.
