Genius Baldur’s Gate 3 Player Uses Sheep Magic to Recruit the Evil Minthara During Good Playthrough

Baldur’s Gate 3 is a game jam-packed with consequences. Make this decision here, expect to see its effect there. It had been thought that recruiting one particularly evil character during the first act of the game was incompatible with a good playthrough, but one genius player came up with a workaround — using sheep magic.

Cyberpunk 2077 developer defends Bethesda's work on Starfield: 'They are just doing something different with their time and that's cool'

Starfield is a good game, but it's also been the subject of a perhaps-unexpected level of criticism from players, exacerbated by the triumphant Cyberpunk 2077 2.0 comeback. But in response to a player's complaints about Starfield's use of Creation Engine 2—an updated version of the aging Creation Engine that was first used in 2011 for The Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim—one Cyberpunk 2077 developer took a minute to defend Bethesda's sci-fi RPG, saying the issue isn't the technology but that Starfield developers «are just doing something different with their time.»

Cyberpunk 2077 developer defends “outdated” Starfield animations

One CDPR developer whose credits include quest design on Cyberpunk 2077 and The Witcher 3 defends the animations, character behaviors, and way dialogue sequences are presented in Starfield, following critical comparisons between the Bethesda RPG and CP2077. Following the release of Phantom Liberty, players are returning to Night City for the next chapter in the tale of V and Johnny Silverhand. One Cyberpunk player outlines their issues with Starfield when compared to the CD Projekt Red game, calling Bethesda’s dialogue animations and its in-house Creation Engine “outdated.” A CDPR dev responds, outlining the differences between Starfield and Cyberpunk in terms of game-making ambition.

Baldur's Gate 3 rewards creativity - one player has skipped the final gauntlet using invisibility potions

Since its launch, players have been trialing multiple ways to explore just how creative Baldur’s Gate 3 allows you to be, and while a lot of the time this has been a process of trial and error — it’s always impressive to see the different ways some of the games hardest sections are somewhat bypassed by its players.

Baldur's Gate 3 Fan Finds Audio Files Of All The Companions Snoring

When the day is done and you're all out of spell slots, there's nothing like a long rest with your Baldur's Gate 3 party. Typically, this is a good chance for the story to progress too, as your companions often get unique cutscenes before you head off to bed. However, if you're all caught up on them, you're instead greeted by a shot of your party members all tucked into their bedrolls, snoring away.

Starfield accidentally ignites another dev discussion about how games lie to players: "Gamers found out about the rain box - pack it up boys, it's over"

After Starfield players had the revelation that the in-game rain system is actually just a box developers place around environments to simulate an actual weather event, game developers from a bunch of different studios are sharing other dirty little secrets they use to deceive us.

Baldur's Gate 3 voice actors playing D&D as their characters is as fun to watch as you'd hope

The voice actors behind Baldur's Gate 3's origin characters—Astarion, Gale, Karlach, Shadowheart, Wyll, and Lae'zel—gathered for a two-episode D&D game that was livestreamed this past weekend. An hour into the first 160-minute episode, I can confidently recommend it to fans of our favorite new RPG. I don't know if I'll make get to the end of the whole session anytime soon, but it's a charming bit of fan service. Replays are available on YouTube, Twitch, and as podcasts.
