Apple Vision Pro currently in mass production, to hit stores in late January, says report

The Apple Vision Pro will have a separate battery puck that powers the device through a single cable, and this design was chosen to reduce the weight of the AR headset. Unfortunately, in Apple’s quest to provide a less heavy head-mounted wearable, the company delivered a more cumbersome experience as the battery now has to be stored somewhere. If you do not have a pocket when the device is donned on your head, then you are fresh out of luck. However, one accessory maker has apparently solved this problem but will require you to pay an additional sum to tether the battery.

Apple is set to launch the Vision Pro headset in the United States next month. The headset has gathered ample attention over the past few months, and as the launch nears, users are gearing up to pre-order the device on January 19. Since it is an entirely new product, the ordering process would differ slightly from the iPhone or Mac. This time, the Apple Store app will use a facial scan to determine and pre-order the correct Vision Pro component size. This would allow the headset to be ordered with components tailored to your size.

The Apple Vision Pro will officially release on February 2, with pre-orders of the mixed-reality headset starting on January 19. Between this period, several reviewers will provide their initial thoughts on Apple’s first AR headset, but according to the latest update, the California-based giant will have a tighter grip on the entire process, suggesting that it does not want any negative content or impressions being published online.

It's been seven months since Apple announced its Vision Pro augmented reality headset. The initial reception was rather mixed and no doubt not helped in the least bit by the typically enormous Apple price tag. But on February 2nd 2024, you'll finally be able to buy one and try it out for yourself, provided you have $3,499 spare.

A day after Apple announced the sale of its AR/VR headset, the Apple Vision Pro, in the US, Sony has previewed its own headset that competes against Apple's at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2024. Unlike other mixed reality headsets, the Sony headset is primarily not meant for consumers but for engineers and developers, much like the Apple Vision Pro. Sony plans to collaborate with developers of a variety of 3D production software, including in the entertainment and industrial design fields.

The virtual reality market, while not as niche as it was years ago, is still a relatively small one. Even Sony's PlayStation VR2 launch last year seemed to come and go with little fanfare (and even less support for the platform nearly a year later). However, tech giant Apple is making its own case for VR and it's doing so with the $3,500 Vision Pro headset launching next month.

Apple has announced that their Vision Pro headset will launch in the US next month on 2nd February 2024, with pre-order going live on 19th January.

Apple has revealed more details on its upcoming $3499 Vision Pro headset, including specially created games which will take advantage of its «spatial computing» capabilities.

After months of anticipation, Apple has finally announced the availability of the Vision Pro, its first AR/VR headset. The Apple Vision Pro will go on sale starting February 2. However, there's a catch. The device will initially only be available in the US. So, if you're an Apple enthusiast residing in the US and looking to get your hands on the Apple Vision Pro, then you'll be able to do so starting January 2, and it will be available for purchase from Apple Store locations and the US Apple Store online.
