If you’ve been waiting to upgrade your phone until the launch of the iPhone 15 you might not have to wait much longer.
It looks like Apple’s next iPhone will likely be announced just a few weeks from now, in the middle of September.
Apple’s iPhone announcements historically have happened on or near the second Tuesday in September, and it looks like this year will follow suit. In his latest Power On newsletter published Sunday, Bloomberg reporter Mark Gurman says that the event will be held “either Sept. 12 or Sept. 13(Opens in a new window).”
That date falls in line with Apple’s traditional announcement schedule and also tracks with a recent report from 9to5Mac(Opens in a new window). Citing “multiple sources familiar with the matter,” the site said, “mobile carriers have been asking employees not to take days off on September 13 due to a major smartphone announcement.”
If Apple sticks with its typical release schedule, a September 12 or 13th announcement (Tuesday or Wednesday) would lead to pre-orders for the device starting on September 15, and the phone itself launching on September 22. Of course, anything can happen and we’ll have to wait for an official announcement from Apple to know anything definitive.
We’ve already heard a good amount about what to expect from the next generation of the iPhone. This year, like most, we expect the phone to get an upgraded processor as well as an improved camera. This year we also expect every version of the iPhone 15 that is announced to have a Dynamic Island rather than a notch as well as a smaller bezel and charging via USB-C rather than Apple’s proprietary lightning charger.
The iPhone 15 is also rumored to be more expensive than its predecessors at launch to help offset the cost of the device's updated features.

Get ready for some exciting changes with the upcoming iPhone 15! We've heard that the iPhone 15 will come with a special USB-C port for charging. Now, we've got a sneak peek at something as interesting: the new iPhone 15 USB Type-C charging cable.
The smartphone industry is going through somewhat of a slump of late and brands across the world have been struggling to weather the storm. According to reports, the global smartphone export estimates have taken a hit, with experts predicting a 6 percent drop in shipments. As a result, it is expected to be the worst year in a decade for smartphone manufacturers. This problem has hit the big tech companies like Apple as well, with the company accepting that “the smartphone market has been in a decline for the last couple of quarters in the United States.” That bodes ill for the iPhone 15. The Cupertino-based tech giant is set to launch its next smartphone during its Apple event on September 12. While it is expected to encourage users in the Apple ecosystem to upgrade their devices, the current slowdown in sales has still got most analysts worried.
In the fast-evolving landscape of smartphones, innovation drives competition as companies strive to unveil devices with cutting-edge features. In the realm of impressive releases, the Apple iPhone 11 stands out as a time-tested and favourite phone of users worldwide. The iPhone 11 has maintained its title as the world's best-selling smartphone, even after four years. Remarkably, 15 out of the top 21 smartphones sold in Q2 2023 were iPhones, cementing Apple's dominance across major global regions.
In what is seen as a first, Apple iPhone 15 mass production has started in Tamil Nadu, India. This is the first time that an iPhone has started being manufactured in India before it has actually even been announced by the company, MacRumors reports. And this is a step that will worry China as it indicates India's rising status in the tech manufacturing segment that it had been controlling for so long. For Apple, this is the best way to protect its manufacturing base after the fiasco that happened during and even after the Covid-19 epidemic in China when its entire supply-chain was disrupted.
We first saw a glimpse into the next major OS update for iPhones, iOS 17, at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June. Ever since then, many iPhone users across the globe have been waiting to try their hands on the new features and check out the upgrades that it will bring. And after a few phases of developer beta testing, iOS 17 has entered public beta. This means that the global release of the stable version is not too far away. But just how long do people have to wait to get it? Apple has not released any official timeline, however, there is still a way to know the approximate date for its release.
The iPhone 15 lineup will be announced next month with a wide range of novel features. However, the next year's iPhone 16 and iPhone 16 Pro models will come with further advancements in terms of hardware as well as software. An analyst now speculates that Apple will use WiFi 7 in the iPhone 16 Pro models compared to WiFi 6E on the iPhone 16 Pro models along with a 48MP ultra wide-angle camera.
Apple iPhone 15 series is expected to launch in September but no date has been announced yet. It is also rumoured that the new generation of iPhone will support USB-C port charging after the EU mandated the policy for all smartphones. Now, another tipster says that iPhone 14 models may receive an upgrade from Lighting charge to USB-C port, but it will happen only after the launch of iPhone 15. Check out what we know so far.
The Apple Watch has undergone a slow evolution over the years. While there has been a new Apple Watch Ultra that the Cupertino-based tech giant introduced last year, the standard models have largely remained the same since the Series 4 lineup. Although the company keeps on adding new features, the overall technology and design of the Apple Watch have remained similar. However, this could change soon as Apple is reportedly working on a special ‘Watch X' to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Apple Watch.
The Equalizer 3 could be the end of the road for Denzel Washington’s reluctant hero Robert McCall – at least if you believe series director Antoine Fuqua.
As anticipation builds for Apple's forthcoming iPhone 15 launch, a significant revelation has emerged. While a huge number of leaks have revealed most of what is likely to be on the iPhone 15 Pro models, nothing much was known about the iPhone 15 Pro chip. That has just been changed by the latest leak about the A17 chipset.
Apple's reveal of the Dynamic Island feature on the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max in 2023 still lingers. But as these models settle into the tech scene, anticipation for the 2023 iPhones is growing to a new high. Here's a roundup of the latest rumours surrounding the Apple iPhone 15 Pro and iPhone 15 Pro Max, with a possible alternate name, iPhone 15 Pro Ultra.
