Apple has yet to release the first Vision Pro headset; however, the company is reportedly already working on a follow-up version, with a special focus on making the device more comfortable to wear, Bloomberg reports.
In his weekly PowerOn newsletter, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman said Apple is focused on making the device lighter and smaller.
According to Gurman, the first version of the headset has caused some neck strain due to its size and weight, something that at the very least will cut down on how long someone can wear it, but he notes it could also deter potential buyers who are already a little wary of mixed-reality headsets. Apple plans on addressing the weight in the first version with an over-the-head strap.
Another important detail being looked at for the second version of the headset is the need for eyeglass wearers to purchase prescription lenses for the device. That feature significantly complicates the purchase process for the Vision Pro.
For now, Apple plans on shipping custom-built headsets from the factory with users' lenses preinstalled; however, it’s reportedly looking at other solutions for the long term.
The Vision Pro is expected to go on sale sometime next year. The $3,500 headset projects images over your real-world surroundings for a mixed-reality experience Apple calls “spatial computing.” Unlike other headsets, the Vision Pro does not require a controller and instead relies on your voice, finger gestures, and eyes for navigation.

The iPhone 15 lineup has been out for about a month, so you know what that means: rumors about next-gen iPhones.
Apple released the first developer beta of its forthcoming iOS 17.2 update yesterday. The update packs many new features and changes the company announced at its WWDC 2023 event. Earlier this week, Apple also released the final version of iOS 17.1 with some notable updates. In the latest beta of iOS 17.2, it has been confirmed that Apple has a 'pad-like' device that can update a sealed iPhone in the box wirelessly to the latest software version.
Capcom is working on a next-generation version of RE Engine, the powerful but flexible technology powering games ranging from Monster Hunter: Rise to Resident Evil 4 Remake.
It was reported recently that Apple could release new Macs by the end of this month. The company was previously expected to announce new Macs in the Sring time next year. If Apple plans to release new Macs on October 30, Mark Gurman suggests that Apple event invites will arrive later today. We are expecting Apple to announce the new M3 chip with improved performance alongside the MacBook Air and Pro models.
After some anticipation, a report has claimed that new Mac devices will be launched before the end of the year. The information comes from Bloomberg's Mark Gurman, who has revealed that Apple will likely host its Mac event between October 30 and October 31, bringing upgraded MacBook Pro models and a new iMac for consumers. The launch may witness several configurations of 24-inch iMac, alongside new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pro. The event will be held just a week away but the fact that it is yet to be announced officially might make it one of the shortest announcement-to-launch event cycles for the tech giant.
The Apple Vision Pro launch is said to happen in early 2024, but it will not be easy for customers to acquire one as the device is said to be available through an appointment system only. Also, the company has been extremely mum on the product, which only means that the average person does not know what they will be getting for their hard-earned $3,499, and that may be why Apple has selected a few retail employees to undergo a secret training event prior to the release of the AR headset.
The Apple Silicon transition is not yet completed, as the iMac Pro featuring the company’s M-series SoCs is yet to launch. Whenever it arrives, new information states that it was always slated to be unveiled shortly, but Apple’s cost concerns pushed its launch into limbo.
A new iMac may arrive as early as this month.
Key iPhone assembler Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. said it will collaborate with Chinese authorities on unspecified probes, following a report that officials are conducting tax audits and reviewing land use by parent Foxconn Technology Group Co.
When the iPhone 15 series was announced, some were a little disappointed with the price hike of the iPhone 15 Pro Max, which now starts at $1199 (in India, it starts from a whopping Rs. 159900). At the time, some reports from the supply chain side claimed that the price hike was likely because the manufacturing cost for Apple had increased which contributed to the overall price hike. Now, a new report has surfaced that has broken down the individual component price for each iPhone 15 series model and found out just how much it costs Apple to manufacture them. It turns out, Apple did pay a significantly higher amount for smartphones this year compared to last year's iPhone 14 series.
This is the year of Cyberpunk 2077's about-face. Between the game's wide-ranging 2.0 update and its slick Phantom Liberty expansion pack, most onlookers now agree that the game is—if not the awe-inspiring masterwork it was hyped up to be prior to release—pretty good. But over at CD Projekt, the game's disastrous launch still looms large in devs' memories, and they're keen to avoid a repeat performance.
