AMD has unveiled its next GPU, the RX 7600 XT, which aims to provide stellar 1080p and 1440p performance, all for $329. This card will launch later this month on January 24th.
The RX 7600 XT sits at about $60 more expensive than the launch price of its little brother, theRX 7600, which debuted late last year. Taking advantage of AMD's RDNA 3 architecture, Team Red is positioning this card as a 1080p performer. It can also do quite well at 1440p, if AMD's internal claims prove true, especially when AMD's FidelityFX Super Resolution is working — and even more so with its version of frame generation.
The RX 7600 XT feels squarely targeted at PC players still running their RTX 2060s or even AMD's 5600 XT or 6600 XT cards from yesteryear. It's priced competitively against its 40-series rivals, both theRTX 4060 and 4060 Ti, though how it compares in real-world testing remains to be seen.
While the RX 7600 XT will see higher power consumption than the non-XT variant, it still sits with the same number of compute units, AI accelerators, stream processors, and more. This is down to the fact that AMD opted for its Navi 33 chip on the 7600 XT, which sees a cap on these features compared to its Navi 32 chip. However, the RX 7600 XT does see a boost in clock speeds, with the game and boost clocks bumped up to 2.47 and 2.76 GHz, respectively. This is a jump from the RX 7600's 2.25 and 2.66 GHz clock speeds for its game and boost clocks. The RX 7600 XT also sees a boost in its VRAM, doubling its 8GB on the 7600 to 16GB on the 7600 XT.
It'll be interesting to see how this card performs when independent testing comes around. The AMD RX 7600 XT launches at $329 on January 24th.
