Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising follows the crew of the Grandcypher, an airship with a motley crew of anime stereotypes – and my dream husband, Rackam. After an antagonistic force that the crew thought disbanded attacks a peaceful nation, ship captain Gran and his friends discover that previous allies have not only forgotten them, but are now outright hostile. With a greater threat clearly at large, the Grandcypher sets off to reunite with old friends.

Though the end of Game of Thrones in 2019 dovetailed directly into news that HBO was in development on a slate of spinoff series spearheaded by source material author George R.R. Martin, 2024 only feels like the beginning of a GoT onslaught. House of the Dragon, the only show that’s gone before cameras (besides an entirely different pilot that was shot and scrapped), will return for season 2 this summer. A Knight of Seven Kingdoms: The Hedge Knight, adapting Martin’s Dunk and Egg story, has a greenlight with lofty goals of arriving before year’s end. A Jon Snow series might still be in the works? Easy to believe, but there are no officially announced plans.

Publisher Phoenixx and developer Happymeal, in cooperation with TBS, have announced detective adventure game Quiz Seikai wa Ichinengo presents Atsushi no Meitantei for Switch. It is available now via Nintendo eShop in Japan for 1,000 yen.

Ahead of the new year, the popular decentralized social media platform Bluesky has rolled out a new update. The Bluesky update 1.61 comes less than a week after the previous update which redesigned the logo to a butterfly and made the posts public for even those who did not have an account on the platform. Now, with the new update, Bluesky has added a new in-app video and music player for links. This player will function like the native player on X (formerly Twitter) where users do not have to leave the platform to play a YouTube video and can instead watch it on the platform. Alongside, Bluesky has also added a ‘Hide Post' feature that allows users to hide the posts they do not want to see.

The Switch versions of visual novels Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative will launch on March 28, 2024, listings at retailers such as Biccamera and Neowing reveal. It will support English and Japanese language options.

We've seen a lot of Ghibli-like indie games this year, but this might be the most faithful one yet. 

Along with confirming that Lucilius would arrive on January 16th in Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising, Cygames revealed the second DLC fighter. It’s 2B from NieR: Automata, voiced by Yui Ishikawa in Japanese and Kira Buckland in English, just like in the game. Check out the first gameplay trailer below.

Cygames’ Granblue Fantasy: Relink has much going on, with a Story Mode and over 100 quests to end-game content. The developer will provide a slice of its content in January with a free demo on PS4 and PS5. However, the journey doesn’t end at launch, as two new characters are coming in April 2024.

During this year's Granblue Fest, Japanese game developer Cygames announced that a free demo of Granblue Fantasy: Relink would be released next month on PlayStation and PlayStation 5 ahead of the scheduled global release date of February 1st, 2024. Featured content includes a small chunk of the main story, eleven playable characters, and even playable online quests in cooperative multiplayer. Moreover, completing story and quest content will provide rewards for the full game.

Everybody calm down! It’s happening! Everyone’s favorite sword-wielding android, 2B, is coming to Granblue Fantasy Versus: Rising. I didn’t know that I was missing her but it’s abundantly clear that I was.

Cagliostro will be a playable character in action RPG Granblue Fantasy: Relink, and Seofon and Tweyen will join the roster as playable characters via a free update in April 2024, publisher Cygames and developer Cygames Osaka announced.
