A trailer for an apparent new Sonic mobile game that looks similar to Fall Guys is being shared online.
The game, which is called Sonic Toys Party, was initially shown by YouTube channelThe Sonic Show.
It appears to support up to 32 players, and features a variety of stages in which players compete to qualify.
The footage shows stages where players have to reach the end first, and another where they have to defeat enemies, suggesting there are different win conditions for each stage.
Playable characters seen in the trailer include Sonic, Tails, Knuckles, Shadow, Amy, Eggman, Metal Sonic and Rouge.
Some players can also be seen with cosmetic items, such as top hats, masks and Chao companions.
Following the trailer’s leak, Sonic news site Sonic Stadium added more information from its source, a user called Midori who had previously said a Fall Guys style Sonic game was in development.
According to the source, the trailer shows beta footage that was recorded last summer and intended for internal use only, and as such the final game may look different.
The game is reportedly set for release in June or July and will be a “pillar mobile title” that Sega will be using to experiment with mobile online games, and collaborations are planned with Sega and other third party IPs such as Persona and Saint Seiya.
It’s also claimed the game won’t be tied to any subscription service like Apple Arcade or Netflix.
In December, a new Sonic mobile game called Sonic Dream Team was released exclusively on Apple Arcade. Rather than an endless runner like most other Sonic mobile games, Sonic Dream Team is a full 3D platformer.
