With just a touch of bravado, the European Union Agency for Law Enforcement Cooperation (or Europol) has announced «a major blow» to the Ragnar Locker ransomware group. To you and me, that name is mostly familiar because of the organisation's 2020 attack on Capcom, which saw it demand $11 million and affect around 400,000 people's data.
Welcome to October, aka peak video game season. If you gave the game release calendar a thwap with the ol’ broom, a few huge AAA-tier games would drop to the ground. Super Mario Wonder,Marvel’s Spider-Man 2,Alan Wake 2, and more will kick up a cloud that overshadows the arrival of smaller games — potentially great ones, even, from developers you might’ve heard of and new indie creators alike.
It may sound very traditional, but Tinder thinks there is some value to be had by those looking for a date to get recommendations from friends and family. If you've been keeping an eye on the development of Spider-Man 2 over the course of the past year, you'll know that Peter Parker can randomly find Miles Morales whilst swinging through New York, and vice versa. Playing as either Spider-Man, you'll be able to help the other one out if you find them wailing on some bad guys, and you'll be treated with a unique bit of dialogue or interaction between the two Spider-Men for your effort.
Spider-Man 2 has a lot to live up to. The first game was one of the most entertaining PS4 titles and gave players the full experience of being Spider-Man, swinging around New York city to their hearts’ content. Could the sequel offer the same joy, beauty and an equally interesting story while delivering on the dual-protagonist concept? Yes, yes it can — though Insomniac skimped on a couple of areas they shouldn’t have.
