A talented Legend of Zeldafan recently demonstrated their cosplay skills with an impressive rendition of Princess Zelda from Twilight Princess. The characters of the Legend of Zelda series have taken on many different incarnations over the years, and this has naturally inspired players to dress up as them for fan conventions or simply just for fun. One particular popular cosplay source among Zelda fans is Twilight Princess, the 2006 mainline entry that was released on both the Nintendo GameCube and the then-new Nintendo Wii during the transition period between the two systems.
This Legend of Zelda installment sees Link struggle to maintain the balance between two parallel worlds: the typical land of Hyrule and a shadowy dimension known as the Twilight Realm. To do this, he joins forces with an imp-like creature named Midna and gains the ability to transform into a wolf, both of which have inspired plenty of artwork and cosplay in the decade or so since Twilight Princess’s release. Princess Zelda spends much of Twilight Princess imprisoned in Hyrule Tower, at least until she seemingly sacrifices herself to save Midna midway through the game. She is eventually revived during the climax, where she helps Link defeat Ganondorf.
A Reddit user and cosplayer by the handle of CurlyNatsu recently posted a series of photos of their cosplay of the Twilight Princess version of Princess Zelda to r/zelda. According to them, the dress, armor, and golden tiara were all purchased, while Princess Zelda’s sword and remaining hair accessories were 3D printed. CurlyNatsu says that they plan on improving the wig and shading the armor and hair pieces later on, but this current version has already garnered plenty of praise from other Reddit users.
This isn’t CurlyNatsu’s first Zelda-inspired cosplay either, as they previously dressed up as the de-aged version of Purah from Tears of the Kingdom. They have also cosplayed as the ice-wielding Shenhe from Genshin Impactand the nine-tailed fox Champion Ahri from League of Legends, as well as characters from various anime like One Piece and Bleach.
The Twilight Princess versions of Link and Zelda stand as some of the most popular incarnations of the characters to date, and were even the versions included in Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Super Smash Bros 4 as the representatives for their franchise. Even after Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom presented Legend of Zelda fans with a new version of the titular ruler of Hyrule, Zelda’s appearance in Twilight Princess still inspires cosplayers like CurlyNatsu to recreate her regal attire.

These are the only Pokemon able to fuse officially, however, as every other fan fusion has been non-canon.

A Pokemon player has successfully managed to transfer the rare Mew from Space World 1997 into the modern-day Pokemon Scarlet and Violet games. The Pokemonuniverse contains many rare and legendary creatures, and the powerful Psychic feline Mew may very well be one of the most elusive of all. Despite playing a major role in the lore of the original Pokemon Red and Blue games, Mew could not be encountered or captured in the base game without glitches or datamining. This would be the case for every mainline Pokemon game until Generation 4’s Diamond and Pearl, which allowed players to import it from the Wii My Pokemon Ranch spin-off.

One imaginative Pokemon fan has created an interesting convergent design for Sudowoodo that gives the plant-mimicking Rock-type a more insectoid form. Every new generation of Pokemon adds new creatures to the franchise’s line-up, and later games would introduce variants for ones that already exist. Pokemon Sun and Moon introduced the concept of convergent Pokemon, alternate versions of certain monsters that live in a particular environment. For example, Wigglet is a relative of the popular Generation One critter Digglet that lives near sandy beaches instead of dirt-filled fields.
