Yakuza lead shuts down speculation over Kiryu's love life, and fans are devastated

Splatoon and Mario Kart 8's Wii U servers abruptly went offline back in March of this year due to a security breach. Since Nintendo has been winding down support for its last-gen console, it may have been assumed the servers for those games might remain offline forever, but thankfully, that will not be the case. However, if they encounter this issue again, Nintendo has warned the servers might be shut down for good.

Classic Call of Duty games are seeing a huge resurgence on Xbox thanks to the servers being fixed, with over 200,000 people playing across Black Ops and Modern Warfare in July. Granted, a big hacking problem ruined the experience for many on Black Ops 2, but that didn't stop fans from jumping back into the originals like no time had passed. But unfortunately, if you're hoping to do the same on your old Wii or DS, you'll find no such luck, as the servers have finally gone offline.

Star Wars Jedi: Survivor is now in development for PS4 and Xbox One - that's right, two consoles that were first released around 10 years ago. 

EA has said the next Battlefield game will be a "reimagination" of the series, but fans aren't convinced it's a good thing. 

Creator and media critic Anita Sarkeesian revealed to Polygon that her organization Feminist Frequency is coming to an end. 

Feminist Frequency announced today that it’s shutting down. The nonprofit, founded in 2009 by Executive Director Anita Sarkeesian as an outlet for media criticism of video games and other pop culture, expanded through the years to include podcasts, gaming resources, and an Online Harassment Hotline. Although the organization’s industry resources will remain on its website indefinitely, the hotline will close at the end of September, and the remainder of Feminist Frequency will wind down by the end of 2023.
