The Microsoft Rewards service on Xbox is set to undergo some changes.
Xbox has launched a new site for what is now called Rewards with Xbox, in which players will access a Rewards hub on the Xbox console, mobile app and Windows app to earn and redeem Rewards points.
As noted by some users on Reddit, a message has started appearing to users of the current Xbox Rewards App, informing them that the app is set to stop receiving new offers on April 15 and will essentially shut down.
“Rewards with Xbox has a new home,” the app message reads. “Check out the new Rewards hub, your go-to destination for Xbox activities and offers, available across devices.
“Now you can see available activities, set up a goal, and redeem your rewards all in one place. The new activities focus on what matters most: earning points while having fun playing games.
“With the new Rewards hub and gaming activities coming to Xbox, we will no longer publish offers in the Microsoft Rewards app on console, starting on April 2024. This means the current Weekly Set and Weekly Streak on this app will end as of April 15, 2024.
“We’re excited to bring the Rewards hub with new activities to Rewards with Xbox, and we’re looking forward to providing even more ways to earn Rewards in the future.”
In a statement provided to Pure Xbox, Microsoft said: “We know that previously Xbox Rewards was split across three separate experiences. The new Rewards Hub will be more streamlined for players, combining the separate rewards experiences into one convenient location.
“The new Rewards Hub brings together access to all offers and Xbox-related activities and will be the destination on Xbox to set goals, earn and redeem points.
“With this update, we are recalibrating our Rewards points system and updating the kinds of activities players can participate in to earn rewards, so that more players will enjoy and benefit from the program.
“We’re always looking at how we can make gaming experiences better for players. That’s why over the coming months, you’ll see us deploying many experiments within the Rewards program to test different ways to continue improving it, including things like new ways to earn and redeem Rewards and improved player experiences.”
