World of Warcraft recently shared a new video showing off Delves, a new world activity coming in The War Within. This new type of World of Warcraft instance can be tackled alone or in groups, and provide both cosmetic and progression rewards, so Delves have something in them for everyone.
The War Within brings some huge changes to World of Warcraft in the form of Warbands, Dynamic Flying, and Hero Talents. However, one of the most exciting new features is Delves – a new type of mini-dungeon players can enter solo or in groups to obtain all sorts of rewards. There will be 12 Delves available at launch, with more planned for later.
Now, Blizzard has shared a video that gives a first look at some of the Delves coming in World of Warcraft: The War Within. It detailed ways in which players can customize Brann’s abilities to fill the role of a DPS using his Gryphon’s Battle Harness, as a healer with potion drops, or by using Utility and Combat Curios to enhance his endgame abilities. World of Warcraft also confirmed Delves get their own tab in the Premade Groups section of the Party Finder tool, allowing fans to easily search for allies to clear any Delve difficulty tier.

The video also gave players a first look at some of the new Delves coming in the deeper reaches of Khaz’Algar. The Earthcrawl Mines is a dig site in the Isle of Dorn and is one of the Delves available in The War Within alpha right now, but World of Warcraft also showed off footage of The Sinkhole, the deepest point in Hallowfall where water all over the zone gathers. The Dread Pit, a forward base for the Nerubians, is another Delve found in the Ringing Deeps. WoW even gave fans a first look at the secret 13th Delve coming in The War Within Season 1, which focuses on an encounter with a powerful boss named Zevzik.
Players can clear Delves alone, or in groups with no class or role restrictions. Additionally, each Delve has dynamic objectives, meaning subsequent visits to a single location can play completely differently, despite using the same layout.
By clearing Delves, players can get progression gear equivalent in power to Heroic raids or Mythic+ dungeons from WoW: The War Within, and can even get items from the Great Vault by completing them. There are tons of cosmetics, pets, currencies, and mounts fans can earn through Delves as well, including customizations for the Delver’s Dirigible flying machine, so casual collectors and endgame raiders alike will have something
