Ubisoft announces The Division 3 in the least exciting way possible

Crunchyroll is a name people have come to trust when it comes to their anime viewing needs, if only reluctantly. The service has been around for a long while, and its content has been available in several forms. Now the company has announced the launch of a 24/7 anime channel to ensure fans can enjoy their anime at all hours of the day.

Strictly Limited Games and ININ have announced Irem Collection Volume 3. It’s set for Q2 2024 on Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox, which gives time for the first two collections to actually be released.

Not long ago it was quietly announced that The Division 3 was in the works at Ubisoft. I don’t think many fans of the series were surprised, seeing as how The Division 2 has been rehashing old seasons as the wind down supporting it as a live service. The Division 3 will certainly be a welcome inclusion, but with two other The Division titles also on the horizon, the third iteration of the series will need to make some hefty changes, especially if it intends to compete with many of the other looter shooters that have risen in popularity.

Ubisoft has outed the existence of The Division 3 — the next game in its looter shooter series. The title is currently in early development, and that's pretty much all we've got to go on. Just to give you an idea of what 'early' means, the team at Massive Entertainment — the lead developer on both of the previous Division games — is now recruiting for the project. So yeah, it's early.

Netflix has announced the Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft animated series, based on the Tomb Raider video game series. It is produced by Legendary with Crystal Dynamics.

Logitech is adding to its long list of existing racing sim peripherals, by teaming up with Playseat for the second time, to launch the Playseat Challenge X Logitech G Edition. A brand-new lightweight and fully adjustable racing sim chair, the Playseat Challenge X is another option for those looking to create a more immersive racing game experience.

Ubisoft came out of nowhere to 'rescue' Microsoft from its litigation with UK regulator CMA (Competition and Markets Authority). As you'll undoubtedly recall, the CMA was the only regulator to successfully block Microsoft's groundbreaking acquisition of Activision Blizzard. Microsoft appealed to the CAT (Competition Appeal Tribunal), but it would have been a long and arduous road to pursue, as CAT could only recommend another outcome to the CMA without being able to enforce it.

Tom Clancy’s The Division 3 is officially on the cards. Julian Gerighty, who worked on the previous games before becoming creative director on Star Wars Outlaws, will become executive producer for The Division brand once the sci-fi title is out.

Publisher Private Division and developer Weta Workshop have announced Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game for consoles and PC. It will launch in 2024. Specific consoles were not announced.

Ubisoft has made another shakeup for one of its core franchises, as Julian Gerighty is now the executive producer for its Division franchise. After shipping Star Wars Outlaws (as its creative director), he's to oversee the "plethora of projects" for the Tom Clancy branded sub-franchise. 

Ubisoft sure does love a sequel, and it's now confirmed — in just about as understated a fashion as is possible — that it's got another one in the works, this time in the form of The Division 3.
