Turtle Beach has announced its acquisition of PDP, a competing third-party peripherals brand. While most gamers are probably familiar with Turtle Beach for its long-running line of headsets, PDP has mainly focused on third-party controllers for platforms like the Switch, PlayStation, and Xbox.
PDP has some exciting projects in the works, such as its Fortnite Festival guitar controller that's reminiscent of the ones released for Guitar Hero and Rock Band. The PDP Riffmaster is set to be released sometime this spring and includes interesting features like a removable pickguard that can be replaced with custom ones later on. PDP's controller will be officially supported by Fortnite Festival, which was developed by Harmonix, the creator of the previously mentioned rhythm games.
Turtle Beach recently announced that it acquired PDP for $118 million. This brings PDP's wide range of products, which include controllers, headsets, and accessories for all major platforms, under the Turtle Beach umbrella. Turtle Beach expects the purchase to bring in about $400 million in the first 12 months of full ownership and also announced its new CEO in Chris Keirn. Keirn has worked for the company since 2013 in a variety of important roles and says he's «honored to work with the amazing team at Turtle Beach, now including our new colleagues from PDP.» He also explained that Turtle Beach intends to continue scaling across the gaming accessory fields through innovation and expansion.
Back in November, Turtle Beach revealed its impressive Stealth Ultra controller, highlighting the company's growth from its roots in surround sound gaming headsets released during the late 2000s. Fans might remember this explosion in popularity when the 2000s' multiplayer console boom saw other gaming accessory companies, like Astro, grow as well. Turtle Beach's $200 Stealth Ultra features a dynamic display screen that allows the user to mix sound, view social media notifications, customize colors, and more.
Turtle Beach offers more budget-friendly accessory options as well, like its Steal 600 Gen 2 MAX headset that was recently on sale for its lowest price ever. The $20 discount has since concluded, but the headset still sits at a pretty reasonable price of $119 while including most of the features that fans have come to expect in modern gaming headsets.
The best Turtle Beach headsets offer an impressive lineup of options across a variety of price points and feature packs. Fans looking to return to the classic brand can check out the nearly $300 Elite Pro 2 + SuperAmp or the $50 Recon Spark.

GamesReview is always excited when we are considered for Kickstarter preview coverage, but we still only choose to preview games we think we will enjoy. The trouble with doing preview work is you walk that fine line between being a marketing tool and actually providing solid coverage on a game. Thankfully, I’ve been having a blast with Welcome to Meeple Beach from the Table Golf Association, so everything you are about to read is my legitimate thoughts!

If you want to play Rock Band 4 on consoles, it hasn’t been easy or affordable to pick up a new guitar controller. It’s common to find second-hand (ew) guitar controllers selling for $500 or so. That’s changing, thankfully, with the launch of PDP’s Riffmaster. It’s a $129.99 wireless guitar controller that’s coming to shelves in April for both PlayStation and Xbox consoles (either guitar is compatible with PC, to boot, and ships with a USB-A wireless transceiver). Its design accommodates right- and left-handed players.
PDP's latest product, the Riffmaster Wireless Guitar Controller, is set to hit the store shelves next month at a price tag of $130, reviving a market of plastic musical instruments that allow fans to live out their fantasies as rockstars.
Gaming peripheral manufacturer PDP has launched a brand new variant of its Rematch Glow controller, this time featuring Princess Peach on a motorcycle.
It's an exciting time for Stardew Valley players, as creator Eric Barone has been slowly dishing out updates over the course of the past week, all culminating in the release of Patch 1.6 earlier today. The fighting game scene is going through a true renaissance right now, with Street Fighter 6, Mortal Kombat 1 and Tekken 8 making sure that brawlers aren’t just part of the conversation, they’re leading the way in competitive gaming. Retaining their arcade roots, the scene’s technological component has seen manufacturers like Mad Catz, Nacon and Qanba offer their own arcade sticks, attempting to give the best players an even finer edge. Victrix doesn’t just want to be part of the crowd though, they want to be the only fight stick manufacturer players go to. The PDP Victrix Pro FS is the fight stick that can make that a reality.
