Transformers introduced us to a level of tech we could only dream of in the 1980s because, well, Autobots and Decepticons are fictional beings from a faraway planet. While there sadly may never be a time when a sentient Optimus Prime walks among us, Hasbro and Robosen Robotics showed off the next best thing this week. A robotic Megatron that can transform from its bipedal form into a tank and back again whenever you command it to do so, joining a growing range of robotic Transformers and becoming the first Decepticon to join the line-up.
There are two ways to make your impressive new Megatron transform - either by using the robot's companion app, or simply by telling it to. That's right, an evil robotic Transformer that does exactly what you tell it to. Not the beginning of some villainous origin story, or at least I hope not, but a reality that can be realized right now. That's if you have $899 to spare, and that's the sale price. Hasbro's robotic Megatron will be available to buy for its pre-sale price for 30 days after which time it will go up to its regular $1,199 price tag.
That might sound like a lot for a Transformers collectible, but if it isn't already clear, this is a heck of a lot more than any Megatron merch you already own. It has taken the team at Robosen three years to make this Megatron a reality. Equipped with 112 ultra-bright LEDs and 36 motors, this Decpticon bot really is the closest to the real thing that is ever going to exist, and it's something we can actually own if we've got the money to buy one.
Joining Robosen and Hasbro's impressive collection of Transformers robot is its first Decepticon - Megatron. This Megatron bot can transform between its bipedal and tank form through its companion app or when told to via voice command, comes equipped with weapons in either form, and has 270 unique voice lines recorded especially for it by the original voice of Megatron.
The Megatron comes with an energon sword and energon mace, so one devastating weapon in each hand, and tank shell projectiles that can be fired when the Decepticon is in its tank form. If a 21-inch tall Megatron wielding a mace or a tank firing stuff at you isn't enough to intimidate your enemies, maybe the robot being able to speak will get the job done. Frank Welker, the actor who first voiced Megatron in 1984, returned to the booth and recorded more than 270 unique lines for this auto-converting Decepticon. Welker has also signed the chest plate of 40 Megatron bots, but you won't know if you've got a signed one until yours arrives.
Megatron is the fourth Transformer to have been turned into one of these incredibly special robots. The Decepticon joins Optimus Prime, Bumblebee, and Grimlock who already have

Excessively brilliant fantasy RPG Wildermyth is getting a new DLC pack which both embraces the fad for adding roguelike modes to games, and tugs against it in the shape of what the developers are calling "our most extensively written campaign, by far". The pack is called Omenroad, and if nothing else, it's an opportunity to remind you that if you like campfire stories and witty webcomic storytelling and haven't played Wildermyth then you should get that seen to immediately.
We may never live in a world where Pokemon are real, but on the bright side, there are a lot of ways The Pokemon Company has brought them into the real world. Whether that be via Funko Pops, plushes, or action figures. Its latest venture technically falls into the plush category even though their primary function is furniture as Gengar, Lechonk, and Jigglypuff have all been turned into massive beanbags.
The barrage of TV — and great TV — continues apace in 2024, with plenty of intriguing new and returning shows launching their seasons this week.
"Nosophobia" is the fear of disease, "bathophobia" is the fear of depths, and "devlogphobia" is a mixture of nosophobia and bathophobia produced by reading Steam posts about Norland, a systems-rich and plague-ridden medieval colony sim from developers Long Jaunt and Hooded Horse, publisher of Manor Lords. Norland is sort of The Sims meets Dwarf Fortress meets RimWorld. It gives you charge of several new kingdoms that have sprouted from the corpse of a fallen Empire and are now feuding for supremacy.

DON’T NOD recently announced that Lost Records: Bloom and Rage, its next narrative adventure, would launch in late 2024. The new trailer showcased Swann, one of the main characters, and some locations in Velvet Core. Players go through the Summer of 1995 and 2022 when the core cast reunites, making decisions that shape both timelines.
The debate on whether sticking the word ‘space’ in front of something instantly makes it better rages eternal with the heat of a thousand space-air fryers, but the yaysayers are at least victorious in the case of retro-futuristic RPG Beyond Galaxyland, in which turn-based combat is aided by your pal Boom Boom, who is a space hamster with a gun and a little waistcoat. I like this creature , but honestly, you could replace them with a sentient bin bag, and I’d be happy. With pixel art this vibrant and detailed, I reckon even a bulging sack of coffee ground and banana peels would be worth adventuring with. Don’t do it, though. It’s a good guinea pig.

When are we finally going to get a release date for the Silent Hill 2 remake? The game is widely expected to launch sometime in 2024, but PR from Konami has been spotty at best. We got a somewhat-questionable trailer back in February (that even developer Bloober Team criticized as not representative of the final game) and as we head deeper into the year, there’s still a lot to be nailed down. The game’s been rated by the ESRB and there are rumors it may pop up at a PlayStation Showcase next month, but Konami themselves have remained silent.
