Cataclysm Classic™ provides seven new zones to explore, nine new dungeons, and more beginning May 20 at 3:00 pm PDT globally. May 28 also introduces the start of a new PvP Season, followed by the opening of three raid dungeons on May 30 at 3:00 pm PDT globally. Take a journey into the shattered lands and plumb the depths of what this classic experience has to offer.

Archaeology — the source of mounts, BoA weapons & armor, and even the Recipe: Vial of the Sands, has been added to the game in Cataclysm Classic! Players can already start leveling this new profession in the currently available zones to prepare for the expansion's release. It's also worth noting that players are able to find epic rewards via Archaeology, despite being unable to equip them until Level 85 — this includes rewards like Zin'rokh, Destroyer of Worlds.

Cataclysm shakes up players' ability to bring their allies back to life. More classes can battle ress, and hybrid classes can resurrect their whole group or raid with a single spell cast.

Blizzard has confirmed that Heirlooms will remain capped at level 80 in Cataclysm Classic until after the first raid is released. Once the first raid opens, Heirlooms will be adjusted to scale up to level 85.

Once the bane of the low-level questers in Elwynn Forest, players will finally see Hogger captured and thrown into the Stockades in one of the many dungeon changes that occur as a part of Cataclysm Classic. Dungeon Changes in Cataclysm Classic With a range of changes that span from small updates to full revamps, the expansion brings Deadmines and Shadowfang Keep into the early end-game, with both dungeons receiving Heroic modes for players to complete at Level 85. With the release of the Cataclysm Classic pre-patch, players can now take advantage of the Reforging system! This system allows players to take a portion of a single stat on a piece of gear and change it to a stat of their choice, including Mastery. Blizzard has released another round of hotfixes for Cataclysm Classic, including a fix for Blood Death Knights being hit by critical melee attacks and several Warlock abilities!

In a hotfix earlier this week, Blizzard announced that the Darkmoon Faire will not be coming to town during the Cataclysm Classic Pre-Patch. Instead, the event will make a return sometime after launch.

Blizzard has updated their «Known Issues» list for Cataclysm Classic. These issues include Death Knight's Blood Presence and Frost Presence not working as intended, Heroic Burning Crusade dungeons deactivated, and the PvP Resilience stat not working.

Blizzard has released hotfixes for Cataclysm Classic, including fixes for a Children's Week quest as well as fixing how Mages' Ignite interacts with other spells.
