Single-player life simulation game Tales of the Shire: A The Lord of the Rings Game will launch digitally for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch, and PC via Steam this fall, publisher Private Division and developer Weta Workshop announced. It will support English, French, German, Italian, Polish, Turkish, Spanish, Latin American Spanish, Brazilian Portuguese, Japanese, Korean, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese language options.

The Nintendo Switch is one of the most popular gaming platforms of the last decade, and because of it Nintendo Switch deals can be hard to come by. If you were unable to catch this week’s Nintendo IndieWorld showcase, then you missed a surprisingly loaded show. Lorelei and the Laser Eyes got a May release date, WayForward showed off its Yars’ Revenge revival, and Steamworld Heist 2 got an exciting reveal. In the midst of all those headlines, two smaller games were surprise released on the platform: Stitch and Sticky Business. Don’t sleep on either of them, as they’re both worth a purchase.

A free retro Nintendo game emulator is now live on the Apple App Store, and because of recent changes made to Apple's app review guidelines, it's actually permitted to be on there. Whether Nintendo will take kindly to it is another matter, given its stance that "supporting emulation also supports the illegal piracy of our products."

The surreal puzzle game Lorelei and the Laser Eyes hits the Nintendo Switch and PC on May 16, as revealed at Nintendo’s Indie World Showcase event. This is a big deal, as the game’s being developed by Simogo, the company behind the mind-blowing adventure Sayonara Wild Hearts, which was one of our favorite titles of 2019. It’s also being published by Annapurna Interactive, who helped steward games like Stray, Open Roads and Cocoon to digital store shelves.

Sayonara Wild Hearts developer Simogo announced a release date for its next game, Lorelei and the Laser Eyes, during Nintendo’s Indie World showcase on Wednesday. It’s set to hit Nintendo Switch and Windows PC on May 16.

Today's Nintendo Indie World Showcase may have been a letdown for Hollow Knight: Silksong hopefuls, but it was overall a pretty great show, and included the news that a Hades-like Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles roguelike is coming to Switch as a timed console exclusive in July. This is a brilliant surprise, as it comes after almost a year of being locked away as an Apple Arcade exclusive.

Publisher Bandai Namco and developer ILCA will release One Piece Odyssey: Deluxe Edition for Switch on July 25 in Japan and July 26 worldwide, the companies announced.

A hardware modder has created a custom Game Boy Advance cartridge that turns the handheld system into a controller for the Nintendo Switch console. Gamers have created a variety of unique and interesting hardware modifications for the Nintendo Switch, including custom Switch docks and controllers based on other properties to modify completely different electronics to make it function with the console. Some of the more interesting hardware modifications are the ones that make other hardware act as a controller for the Switch.
