The eShop is back with a deluge of games after the New Year

Baldur's Gate 3 has taken home Game of the Year at this year's New York Video Game Critics Circle 2024 New York Game Awards, as well as an award for Best Writing.

CES helps us all get into the spirit of the new year with a slew of new devices and technologies being introduced every year. The 2024 Consumer Electronics Show was no different. But, since we are infamous for being very loud fans of smart home tech, we got attracted to the next generation of cleaning products introduced by Roborock at the event.

The Sims 4 recently released a kit focused on castle building, and a player has managed to make an incredible castle, resorting only to the items available in the base game and this new pack. The Sims 4 went free-to-play in 2022, and this made it possible for a greater number of gamers to enjoy the game. While players can enjoy dozens of features with the base game, they can also significantly diversify the type of gameplay they get access to by purchasing additional content.

Video games can be an expensive hobby. I’m sure I don’t have to tell you that. There are several big title releases each month, and with this latest-generation console, we saw the price for new AAA games rise. Rather than paying the once-standard $59.99 for a new game, we’re digging further into our pockets to pay the new $69.99 price tag. This all boils down to waiting for some games to drop in price. We might have to be more selective on the games we pick up at launch and which titles are left to drop in price over time. Fortunately, sales are always going on, including on official marketplaces like the PlayStation Store.

Pocketpair’s open-world creature collecting and survival game Palworld, unofficially dubbed by the internet as ‘Pokémonwith guns,’ released in early access on Steam and Xbox Series X|S today (January 19), and it’s already proven to be exceptionally popular.
