Tekken 8 will be getting a playable demo on PS5 this week, Bandai Namco has announced. Releasing at 8am GMT on the 14th December — a full week before it's available on Xbox and PC — the demo will include limited versions of Story Mode, Arcade Quest, offline Versus, and Gallery. Still, this sounds like a robust demo, and something that Tekken fans will definitely want to check out.
We're also going to assume that the full character roster won't be available. When Bandai Namco releases more information, we'll be sure to update this article.
With Tekken 8 releasing next month on the 26th January, the demo should present a perfect opportunity to get stuck in before launch. Even better, if your favourite characters happen to be included, you can start practicing your combos well in advance.

Robert's been a dedicated PlayStation fan since the days of Tekken 2, and he still loves a good dust up. When he's not practising combos, he's usually getting lost in the latest 100-hour RPG, or, y'know, replaying The Witcher 3.
Oh I am very excited for this. The best fighting game is back and it looks gorgeous
@AFCC the best fighting game in your opinion you mean. I love tekken but in my opinion sf6 is better. I’m still super excited to try out the single player demo content I already got the game preordered after the last beta .
Definitely my most anticipated upcoming title, great were getting a demo!
Yes! Was hoping for a demo!
@redd214 Tekken 8 is tied with rise of the Ronin for my anticipated game of the year for 2023. Tekken 8 gameplay was great in the betas the only thing I’m worried about is the netcode which was hit or miss.
@Jay767 good to hear. I missed out on the betas but happy it played well. I almost never play online outside of getting trophy requirements done but I hope they improved it for ya!
Looking forward to this but does anybody know or heard anything about team battle mode, ive looked all over to try and find any information but with no luck, at this point I'm assuming that it won't be in the game
Don't need a demo to know this is a day 1 buy but i shell try it regardless.
Great news. Fighting sticks at the ready!
Can’t wait for this!
man it sucks that fighting games are more popular on console than PC, i don’t want to pay for online
Apparently only Jin, Kaz, Paul and Nina will be available on the demo. Weak af, I don't play any of these characters.
Ooo, definitely have to give the demo a try. Really looking forward to getting back into Tekken again.
Has anyone tried a leverless controller like a Razer Kitsune?
Or should I go for a traditional fightstick (which I am

Social media speculation regarding Tekken 8's release date has been rampant today, all stemming from a post on Reddit. User shyl0c shared a picture from their local game shop, clearly showing Tekken 8 promotional posters complete with a 21st January PS5 launch date. Of course, the fighting title has long been locked in for the 26th January — five days later — but this seemingly new date has had fans wondering whether there's some kind of early release on Sony's current-gen console.
Our Game of the Year coverage continues with the Best PS5, PS4 Art Direction of 2023, of which a top four has been put together by the Push Square editorial team. Here we'll highlight titles that pushed the boundaries of game visuals, whether that's through near photo-realism, a stylish look, or unique artistic elements. It's kind of funny having a sequel to a 13-year-old game, that didn't initially launch on PlayStation, make its way into the upper half of our top 10 — but that's what happens when said game is Alan Wake 2. Remedy's long-awaited sequel completely blew us away, earning one of the few 10 out of 10 ratings on the site this year. It's bold, it's unique, and most importantly, it's unapologetically Remedy.
Publisher Forever Entertainment and developer MegaPixel Studio have announced the “Mercenaries” update for FRONT MISSION 1st: Remake, a free update due out in 2024 that adds new single-player scenarios, a local multiplayer hot-seat mode, new mercenaries, and a new commander character.
Bandai Namco is full steam ahead with Tekken 8 as the fighting game fast approaches launch day. The title is due for release on 26th January 2024, and up to now, most of its trailers have been focused on single characters. This new one, however, shows off the game's Story mode — and it's looking typically mad.
Alongside confirmation that it’s cancelled its hotly anticipated The Last of Us Multiplayer project, Naughty Dog sought to reassure fans by confirming it has “more than one” ambitious single player titles in the works. The studio admitted that, had it followed through its live service plans, it would have had to ditch the type of titles it’s known for – and ultimately, it wasn’t prepared to do that.
One of the most interesting things about the latest Metaphor: ReFantazio trailer is that it seems to show action and turn-based combat. Of course, Atlus is well known for its turn-based mechanics — Persona 5 being a standout example — and so it was largely assumed that Metaphor would follow suit. However, that's not quite the case.
SEGA’s excellent Yakuza series is well-known for its minigames, but Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth looks to seriously expand upon the expectations of fans with an unprecedented number of side-activities and distractions. Chief among them is the inclusion of some fairly famous Model 3 arcade games, including SEGA Bass Fishing, SpikeOut, and Virtua Fighter 3tb. These are brand new ports, and it’s the first time SpikeOut has been playable on console since an iffy Xbox spin-off almost 20 years ago.

Kratos’ voice actor Christopher Judge has p*ssed off the Call of Duty team, after he roasted Modern Warfare 3’s campaign prior to presenting the Best Performance award at this year’s The Game Awards. The actor – who infamously rambled for several minutes when he grabbed a gong last year – said: “Fun fact, my speech was actually longer than this year’s Call of Duty campaign.”
