Tales of Arise is getting an expansion two years after its launch

Windows 10 still utterly dominates the desktop PC operating system market, despite Windows 11 having been around for 2 years now. And there's not much sign of this changing any time soon.

Final Fantasy 14 has accumulated an awful lot of achievements in its decade of life: 2,751 of them to be exact. Some of them are simple enough—just play through the story, level up some classes, do an event or two—while others require hundreds of hours or even years to earn. Earning all of them would take some serious time and dedication, which would explain why nobody has ever managed to reach 100% achievement completion. Until now, that is.

Dusk, a retro throwback shooter inspired by genre legends like Quake and Blood, is getting an HD overhaul in time for its fifth anniversary on Steam.

David Szymanski's 2018 shooter, Dusk, was one of the vanguards of the retro FPS craze, and it's still a tough one to beat. But just five years after launch, its creators are adding the option to make it a little less retro⁠—Dusk HD got its first big showcase since a tease in the 2022 PC Gaming Show at this year's Realms Deep event.

Dredge was one of this year’s more surprising gems, an unexpectedly winning combination of spooky Lovecraftian atmosphere, open-world exploration and compelling fishing sim that lay somewhere on the ocean-wide spectrum between the chill management of Stardew Valley and the existential dread of Sunless Sea.

It’s been confirmed today (Thursday, September 28) that Sega is canceling Creative Assembly’s multiplayer extraction shooter, Hyenas. This comes less than two weeks after the game’s closed beta period wrapped up on PC.

Payday 3 just recently launched into the marketplace. It’s certainly had a following of players eager to try the game out. Likewise, the title is available on the Xbox Game Pass subscription service. So, there are plenty of players who are able to gain access to the title. However, very few are finding it to be a seamless experience. With the game requiring an always-online connection, the matchmaking service has failed to keep up, forcing players to deal with waiting for the services to be up and running. 

A new model would have to be more powerful and have comparable battery life to the current Steam Deck.

Sea of Thieves is set to add one of its most significant updates yet: solo play.

We've been here before. But Valve's latest attempts to squish any imminent expectations of a faster Steam Deck are that little bit more specific. There won't be one until at least the end of 2025. And quite possibly longer.

Mortal Kombat 1 has officially launched on PC and console, but the Nintendo Switch version appears to be missing key content. 

Yesterday, Google started pushing the September security update to all supported Pixel devices, and the Pixel 4a was missing from the list of phones that received the event. Today, we have an official confirmation that the software support for the 2020 device has finally come to an end, with the last update being the one released in August 2023.
