It's going to be a big year for Subnautica fans, as developer Unknown Worlds revealed that we'll get a look at Subnautica 2's early access plans at some point this year. With summer approaching, which will inevitably bring a whole host of video game conferences, showcases, and gameplay demonstrations, fans have been drawing up their lists of what they want to see in Subnautica 2.
The question was first put to the Subnautica subreddit by user Any_Change_63, who asked players what they want to see from the sequel. Their question was duly answered, as hundreds of fellow fans flooded to the post's comments to explain why the feature they want should be included. For example, user Weirdusername15 says they want the game to be "Deeper, wider, and scarier", echoing the sentiment of a lot of fans who want the game to lean into the horror aspect a little bit more.
To add to that, user Mikejacobs14 is hoping that Subnautica 2 is lonelier than the previous games, another very common request, as players have their fingers crossed that the game will make them "totally isolated" this time around. On the gameplay side, user Tobyfoxfan07 wants Unknown Worlds to expand the game's base customization options, while user Bakesh wants there to be a massive predator that stalks the entire map rather than be bound to a specific area. Terrifying.
A lot of users also have their fingers crossed that multiplayer is going to be a feature in Subnautica, completely unaware that Unknown Worlds has already confirmed it will be a thing. We don't know much about Subnautica 2, but we do know a few things thanks to some official updates from Unknown Worlds in things such as earnings reports. For example, it was revealed a couple of months ago that the game will be single-player focused, but will have an optional co-op mode.
It was also revealed that Subnautica 2 will be a live service title, but only in the sense that the developer plans to keep supporting the game after launch. There will be no typical trappings of live service titles such as microtransactions or battle passes, so you can rest easy there.
Our most recent update on the game included a first look, as developer Liam Tart posted the first in-game screenshot of Subnautica 2 back in February, which you can find above. Apart from that Subnautica 2 remains a mystery, but let's hope that Unknown Worlds doesn't keep us in the dark for too much longer.

fans hoping for even more expansions after the upcoming DLCare out of luck as creative director Hidetaka Miyazaki shared some bad news about the game's future. Released in 2022, the community has waited for over two years to return to The Lands Between and while pre-release footage continues to look promising, some are already looking to the future. While FromSoftware is known for releasing at least a couple of expansions for their RPGs, with a few exceptions, it seems like won't receive any further post-launch support.

TikTok creators can’t seem to escape a maelstrom of policy and security concerns lately. On Wednesday, President Joe Biden signed a $95 billion national security package into law. Nestled inside it was the Protecting Americans from Foreign Adversary Controlled Applications Act, which gives TikTok parent company ByteDance 270 days to sell the platform or cease operations in the United States. Policymakers maintain that the bill is not a “ban,” but a way to get the China-based ByteDance to divest from TikTok. The battle over TikTok could play out in the courts for far longer than the roughly nine-month window before the deadline, but the uncertain future of the app has kicked up a fervor among its many creators, who depend on it for community, connection, and their livelihoods.
