Bethesda Game Studios released a new hotfix for and while it may not include a plethora of changes, one tweak should make the game significantly less irritating. While the developer behind the massive sci-fi RPG may be known for crafting expansive worlds for players to explore, non-playable characters have always been very hit-or-miss. Across and, certain characters have captured the hearts of the franchise's communities but for the most part, wonky AI and stilted dialogue have always plagued Bethesda's NPCs.
Fortunately, per Bethesda's recent post on X (formerly Twitter), the latest hotfix addresses two problems, one of which was recently introduced while the other has been around for quite some time.
One relates to an issue experienced when attempting to take a picture of characters in Photo Mode while the other finally removes a bug that caused NPCs to repeat the same line of dialogue over and over. This glitch has been prevalent in since its launch and played a major role in breaking any kind of immersion when exploring with a companion or just wandering around a city, taking in the ambient sights and sounds.
While the 1.10.32 patch may only really target two problems in, the community has expressed confusion as to why the download size is as large as it is. The hotfix will require a 2.6GB update and while that may not seem like much in comparison to other AAA games on the market, it does feel a touch large for a patch that's only intended to remedy a couple of relatively minor problems. This comes just a few days after the game's most recent content update which was poorly received by the community the lack of new material it introduced to the game.
While the addition of Photo Mode was requested by the community, many have questioned why it was prioritized over more essential additions.
Ever since was released, Bethesda has promised that it intends to consistently update the game with new content and quality-of-life improvements but at the time of writing, very little has been done to expand upon the experience. Various patches have been deployed to fix hundreds of bugs but the most substantial addition to the game was the recently-added Photo Mode. The community has expressed frustration with the developer's lack of communication regarding its roadmap for the game's future.
In late 2023, Bethesda confirmed that it was actively working on building upon the framework of with a major story expansion titled . In the interim, fans will need to enjoy the game for what it is now or turn to mods to either flesh out the experience or fix some of its lingering problems.

may offer players an assortment of abilities and tools to destroy their enemies but a Rogue skill is easily one of the best in the game and one dedicated fan just made it even stronger. Unlocked as early as Level 1, the Sneak Attack skill allows sneaker characters to deal an additional 1d6 damage to a foe they have Advantage against or when an ally is within 5ft of their target. It's remarkably simple to set up and while it's already an extremely potent way to dish out pain, a new mod has made it even better.
Johnny Silverhand is one of the most popular characters in so players wishing they could hang out more with Keanu Reeves' rockstar are in luck because a new mod makes him far more social. In the vanilla version of CD Projekt Red's RPG, the projection of Johnny's consciousness, which is embedded in protagonist V's head, appears throughout the story to both offer advice to players and just offer his thoughts on the current state of Night City. Unfortunately, those wanting to relax with Silverhand can only do so in V's original apartment, even if they own other properties.
is already a massive game but fans who want to take the experience even further by expanding on the game's story and factions are in luck because a new mod is aiming to do just that. Over the course of The Courier's adventure across the Mojave Wasteland, they'll encounter all kinds of colorful NPCs, many of whom belong to some sketchy groups vying for control of the post-apocalyptic United States. One of the more barbaric is Ceaser's Legion, and while they may come across as pure villains in the base game, Nova Arizona wants to improve them.
While there may be many opportunities to find love in the cosmos of , one player has taken it to the next level by making romance an extremely efficient way of boosting one's abilities. While Bethesda's latest RPG is littered with NPCs to discover, there aren't too many that are willing to throw caution to the wind and date the protagonist, given their dangerous lifestyle. Fortunately, there are a few that are daring enough to partner up and while there are some fun story moments that come from these interactions, they feel fairly limited in their scope.
players who want to make their battles a little more dramatic can now do so thanks to a mod that adds in a highly-customizable killcam that spotlights enemies with a cinematic flair. Bucking the trend set by previous Bethesda games like and, the sci-RPG frustrated many players by excluding any kind of killcam, a small but stylish feature that the community has come to expect from the developer's titles. A fun way of wrapping up a challenging combat encounter, the killcam is a popular mechanic amongst enthusiasts.
A recently released Starfield mod aims to make in-game space exploration much more unpredictable by expanding the RPG with a wide variety of extra content. To that end, the mod adds dozens of new space encounters to Starfield.
Upon its release, drew plenty of comparisons to Bethesda Game Studios' other major RPGs and and now one fan has shared a detailed infographic to spotlight a major contrast between the projects: Quests. It's no secret that Bethesda goes out of its way to stuff its games full of quests for players to accept with the promise of new equipment or impacting the world in some way. One of the biggest complaints about is the quality of its quest design, an issue that's easier to see thanks to a comprehensive guide.
players struggling to optimize their resources and recipes need to check out this comprehensive guide meticulously put together by a talented fan. It may not be an essential part of the sci-fi RPG, but those who do take the time to learn how outposts can work to their benefit are sure to find a significantly easier experience since they're a fantastic way to generate a passive income. While the game may not do a fantastic job of explaining how the system works, Starborn now have access to an excellent cheat sheet.
is a massive game that can sap hundreds of hours away from its players but those who want to make the experience even more challenging can now do so thanks to a particularly difficult mod. One of the key components to any playthrough is wrapping up the main campaign and leaping into a New Game+ run that retains the equipment and abilities that have been discovered. Not only is it a fun way to keep playing the game, but it also incentivizes the Starborn to grow as powerful as possible, even if they can become a little too strong.
Haley may already be one of the most high-maintenance characters of butfollowing the launch of the 1.6 Update, players are discovering that she's even more persistent than usual. Over the course of their time in Pelican Town, Farmers have the opportunity to date and eventually marry several romanceable NPCs, a process that has been greatly expanded upon in the latest patch. While most of the characters are fairly relaxed about when players finally pop the question, Haley is apparently unpleased if the courting process takes too long.
The 1.6 Update for may have improved the game more than anyone ever expected but one of the most lauded features just got even better thanks to an excellent new mod. Gifting the NPCs of Pelican Town with their favorite items is one of the key aspects of the farming RPG as players are encouraged to really learn what the characters like and dislike. Previously, it always felt a little hollow since giving a gift was always met with a handful of repeated responses but fortunately, that's no longer the case.
players disappointed with Bethesda's lack of post-game support are in luck asone talented fan has created a mod that's so massive it could serve as the RPG's first major piece of DLC. While Bethesda may have promised more content for in the months after its release, the studio has remained surprisingly quiet when it comes to meaningful patches and the already-announced expansion. Fortunately, the game's community is picking up the slack to make the sci-fi RPG even better with the help of some incredible mods like the «Galactic Colonies Expanse.»
